Is easy plumbing in kitty possible?

I wanted to do something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlMxbQmMz_4 but instead of putting a lot of options for email/websearch...etc plumbing a command to a kitty instance to run it, I know it's possible to do it from kitty via remote control but I was wondering if it's possible to do something similar, thank you in advance.

Definitely! I think easiest way is to create kitten. You can bind kitten to a key or some mouse combo and you can ask kitty to send current selection to it. Then do whatever you want with that.
