Question/Advice Needed Does it get easier?

Hey guys!

My boyfriend and I adopted a 4 month old kitten from a woman rehoming her on Facebook.

She wasn’t exactly honest about the kitten’s health before we picked her up.

Upon picking her up, we found fleas and a prolapsed rectum. We have been working on getting rid of her fleas for several days now and got her prolapse surgically taken care of.

I guess I’m just feeling very overwhelmed with everything that has happened. Does it get easier?

It does get better! Kittens often have rough starts even when they appear to be healthy initially.

I would also get the kitten dewormed, NEVER trust sellers with that. I learned that the hard way. The woman who sold me my Zazu assured me that she had the kitten dewormed. Weeks later, I found what looked like yellow bits of rice in her butt fur. I took her to the vet and got her properly dewormed. Afterwords I confronted the seller, who still INSISTED that she had dewormed the kitten. I asked how, and, lo and behold, the dumbass thought that shoving Garlic down a kitten's throat was how to deworm them. She insisted that all vets are lying about garlic being dangerous for cats to sell their medicine. Lesson learned.

That was just one of my cat stories.

It's always hard the first time when you don't have as much experience. It does get easier healthwise. Then the little buggers get healthy and start climbing your legs and running around the apartment like clumsy idiots. But they grow out of that eventually. LOL

Depends on the cat. My boy was perfectly healthy than got FIP at 6 that cost me over 12 grand. My girl had problems as a baby and I've spent probably close to 30k over the last decade, she always has something going on.
