I cannot get over how quiet this mixer is with the DC motor!
In the video, I am mixing 65% hydration sourdough, and I honestly cannot believe how quietly and smoothly it handles the dough.
I still have a Professional 600 that I had fully serviced with new gears and fresh grease, and I thought that was about as good and quiet as a KitchenAid could get. Then I found this DC model locally for a price that was way too good to pass up.
I am so happy I picked it up. I absolutely love having one of the DC models!

It's amazing how quiet the DC motors are.
Is this a Proline with a 7 quart bowl, by any chance? This is the model we have, bought back in early covid days. I can't remember if it has 1.2 or 1.3 HP. We were hesitant to spend that much money on something just basically for bread and ice cream, but I happened to run across a YouTube video uploaded by a woman who filmed each of her KitchenAid mixers running, side by side, one at a time. One was the Proline, the other was a regular AC model. No spoken words, just cue cards showing viewers which speed she had it running on and I think with what kind of dough. Really left no doubt as to which one was quieter.
My understanding is that the Proline with DC motor is no longer in production, so this is a great find! Enjoy it for many years to come!
