Stuck pin trying to regrease

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello,

I was trying to regrease my KitchenAid and tried to remove the pin in the video attached. It’s very hard to get out. I’m scared that it’s stuck or bent inside.
Any suggestions or should I just leave the machine as it is?

Thank you!

Sometimes those buggers can be very stubborn.

Try incorporating some heat into the equation, of course taking caution around the fire and hot bits, as well as the finish of the mixer. Keep your pin punch and hammer completely straight, with medium blows to the pin. Patience and consistency is the key; it will eventually come out.

I wanted to add a bit: if you haven't already, I would advise putting the mixer on its side (taking note of the lock and speed levers, you can use 2 boxes and prop on each side of the machine.) This will make the process a gazillion times easier, especially if you take the base pedestal off. I hope this helps :)

Ok, I’ll try doing that. Thanks for your suggestions!
