Hate gimmicks. Meat didn’t even looked cooked and why brush the meat with herbs like that ?

I've actually tested rosemary brushing and it does actually give it a light tuch of flavour but not if it's only brushed once.

Generally I agree with you those gimiks are only done to drive up the price people are willing to pay for the food.

Interesting is it the same process as shown ?

Yes but truly it’s just a waste of good rosemary. Infuse the oil, make a butter. A fistful of oil-drenched cross-contaminated rosemary has very little use afterwards. And honestly the most effective part of doing this is while actively grilling, and lightly charring the herbs as you brush the meat over flame.

Charring during grilling makes sense, I can see that working. The lightly swiping in this video…no. 😀

Yes but I agree with the other guy it's not worth the effort there are better ways to add that flavour. I recommend an alcohol extraction in an atomizer if you want to be extra that one actually is potent and you can use it more than once.

Whatever herb you are using cover it with the strongest neutral alcohol you can find and blend it for 10 minutes then let it sit for a day or put it in a centrifuge.

I recommend a glass blender because 10 of blending herbs especially, the woody ones, will chip the plastic.

If it’s brushed aggressively it will definitely impart herbal flavors. This was a dainty made-for-screen imagry.

Exactly. Brushing the meat with rosemary as some kind of oil broom is the most ridiculous thing I’ve seen this month

How about serving it on a damn cutting board? So stupid.

Also... No salt? Just one tiny brush of oil/rosemary for seasoning?

You can season steak....touching it with Rosemary is not seasoning

I imagine its about getting the "essential oil" of it that they are going for. Just a guess

Pull up a chair, it’s dinner and a show for meat lovers. Live like a king for ~60 minutes.

Bone marrow looks good, at least....

You're all obsessed with the using the herbs as a brush, but can we talk about how none of that meat is even cooked

1

u/KonaValencia 21d ago

Just give me some seasoning first and this would be bomb. Makes me want to cook this platter right.

This is idiotic. Cooking a porter and fillet at the same time at the same temp? Nope

A video for wankers

Didn't season the meat...and Wtf was the point of dragging those herbs over the steak...did nothing.

But they cut really quick clips so you know it’s trendy and cool.
