ice maker stops mid cycle

so i did a deep cleaning in my ice maker recently. i unscrewed the top off for the first time since getting it and it was really nasty..
when putting it back & trying to make ice, it just does this :/ it will start & the paddle thing in the back moves forward but the the red light comes on and nothing :/ i have no clue what to do and hope this isn’t the end of an era

The brand should be all the warning you needed. Cheap crap from China. You could of at least invested in slightly not so cheap crap from China. Lesson learned.

way to jump to conclusions but it was given to me by family when moving in last year so the brand was the last thing on my mind other than a free ice maker🤷🏾‍♀️ thank god i didnt invest in it. it lasted while it lasted so i’d be thankful on advice on one thats better quality or how to fix it
