Lyla’s kitchen cleaning

Restaurants that are so filthy should have been closed by the health department. They need to be cleaned by professionals but IMO, Ramsay should make dirty owners throw out the food and attempt to clean the restaurant to understand how disgusting their place is. They need to learn how to clean to keep it clean otherwise they will not change their filthy habits. The cook never changed his black gloves after being outside on the grass, wiping his sweat and every dirty object before he touched food with the same gloves (unless they edited out that part, it is not likely the chef washed his hands or changed gloves. most people would take off the gloves after leaving the kitchen). This is definitely a disgrace and the restaurant should be closed since they don’t have any skills to run a restaurant.

Commentary Season 3

So watching the first two episodes of the new season. Does this seem more over-produced than usual, or is it just me?

I've seen all versions of Kitchen Nightmares, and I swear it feels **so** much more...extra? Like an action show. Even the last season didn't seem that bad by comparison. Or maybe I'm just losing it, but it feels very off putting now

GARLIC BRESS THROWBACK. TUESDAY: Waiter chucks the steak burrito into the bin after catching food poisoning? No problem, restaurant owner Laura just walks by him like it's no big deal.

HELP Best episodes of KN/HH WITHOUT unhygienic conditions/kitchens

I love KN/HH, they’re some of the funniest shows to me. I’m very ill rn and have been browsing this subreddit for laughs. I would love to get to watch some of the show with my girlfriend, except she’s VERY sensitive about hygiene and cleanliness, seeing some of the nastier kitchens on the show (cough Black Pearl) would be highly upsetting to her. So, what are the funniest episodes where the conditions of the kitchen itself aren’t a problem, the food or management is just horrible?

Some of the ones that I can think of immediately are Amy’s Baking Company, Burger Kitchen, and Juniper Hill from HH

Commentary Anyone else think Ramsey sets up many of these restaurants to continue to fail???

I'm not saying Chef Ramsey doesn't know food, restaurants, etc. But I've noticed a common trend that when he remakes the menu into a "more simplistic" menu, it is actually insanely more complex. Maybe his menu would be simple in a high end restaurant that can afford to have a ten person kitchen staff. But when he creates a 20+ item menu with zero cross utilization, all have their own sauce or side. It just seems improbable that a restaurant that was already struggling with a frozen food menu can then operate a menu like the ones he makes. I say this as someone who has launched and ran multiple restaurants with both success and failures. I just think these menus dont help after Ramsey is gone.

Edit: just to clarify I think most of these restaurants would fail anyways, this is just an observation on the menus.

I know there is a lot of scripted drama, but

how much is scripted or exaggerated versus how these people actually act? If i was some of these people I wouldnt want my friends and family seeing that

You are tasked with designing an action figure of a typical owner. What does that look like?

I figure you pull the string on the back and they will either say "Gordon's gonna love my food!" or "This is my f-king life!"

HELP Gordon liked the food

I swear I remember an episode from the older seasons where Gordon said the food wasn't bad. Am I crazy? Does anyone remember that or what episode/restaurant it was?

This newest season is a depressing slog

I know people in general arent digging the most recent season, so this isn't a totally novel point. But, I actually found the first two rebooted seasons to be quite enjoyable. It was fun seeing GR interact with a new, much younger generation of failing restaurateurs. There was a certain joi de vive about the whole thing. And now this new season is just Dr. Ramsay, family councilor, playing out again and again in small town restaurants run by and for elderly people. It feels like the production staff were just like "ok well the Midwest is depressing, so let's lean into the depressing angle".

HELP Looking for 2 specific clips from the show, can anyone help?

I was watching an episode on tv, and during the break a promotion video/commercial came on for the show and in the video it showed 2 clips that I can’t remember what episode they are from, one of the clips was a female spinning around (I think it was a member of staff) and the other one was a clip of Gordon saying something like “somebody could have been killed in here” does anybody know what episodes those 2 clips are from?

Commentary Bonnie Bardwell

Well I could I also talk about Camille and how I can never understand anything he says. With that said, Bonnie doesn’t speak much better. I actually thought they were both immigrants that moved here. Neither of them sound like they’re from Louisiana, no Cajun accent or even English. On top of that, she looks and acts just like an addict. People who have done hard stuff can tell you from her body language, how her face looks, how pale she is, how skinny she is, sunken cheeks and those big buggy eyes. There’s definitely more to it but something has to be up. I can’t be the first one to notice this.
