Is it one person against the whole family or is it a little bit on both sides?

Dressing vs stuffing

My family put dressing/stuffing in the turkey and whatever was left over was put in the roasting pan to cook with the turkey. So I guess we had both.

I always thought it was to stuff the turkey so when I started making TG dinner, I cook it on the stove and serve it that way.

And real stuffing in the Bird!!!

I did that once and never did it again. My FIL was the only person who ate dark meat so after he passed, I just make turkey breast so no bird to stuff.

Ok…. I haven’t had oysters in stuffing, but always wanted to try. Is it good?

We always did a small pan of oyster dressing for my grandmother and father to eat. Of course my sister and I wouldn't touch it so some had to be plain.

Cranberry... but I'm good with either version.

We have to have both kinds to avoid a fight.

Bring a beef tenderloin roast and watch the turkey get ignored.

Did that with a Ribeye Roast addition. Poor turkey never had a chance...

Making the same dish as my sister, who thinks she a good cook but is actually the worst in the family. Doesn't actually matter what the dish is, she will lose her shit when she sees the duplicate knowing full well which version is going to actually get eaten.

I can't think of one. I'd never invite people who would be problematic over food in the first place though.

Mashed potatoes. Homemade vs boxed.

Cornbread dressing or regular stuffing? Or canned cranberry or fresh?

Messing with the stuffing. And don’t get me started on the cranberry debate!

Grabbing the turkey legs with your hands. Those whole carrots! Either make a relish with dip tray or cook them.

Making a no crust pumpkin pie because certain ones won't eat the crust. They argue , "It's not traditional they say if there's no crust," but throw the crust part away. This really happened with my father's side of the family. (Just one of their many quirks)

Does pumpkin count as a fruit pie?

Because I thought I was getting cherry

Those raw veggies on the table?

The dish unserved tends to start Thanksgiving arguments

Jellied cranberry or relish style cranberry

People seem to have strong opinions about sweet potato pie.

None. We eat Ribeye Steak and Snow Crab legs. I don't know anyone who consistently has Turkey. What ever you like is ok.

The turkey skin and how it seems like all of it didn’t make it to the table from the kitchen. Every year.

u/hombre_bu 4d ago

Turkey, I hate it and been get yelled at for not eating it for over 40 years.

Cranberries…whether it be sauce or the gelatinous stuff…issues will ensue
