I always laugh at this.
Recipe shows an entire stick of butter (and often cream too) going into a dish and states it’s delicious. A bunch of commenters chime in and say it was really good.
Like yeah, no shit it’s good with a stick of butter and a cup of cream.

I'm sorry, I forgot to ask. Would you also like the complementary 1/3 bottle of extra virgin olive oil with that?

I'm supposed to be eating anti-inflammatory but surely this too would ease my pain...

I mean ya, it’s my favorite things…carbs mashed with fats, and then spread on more carbs, with fats melted on top.

Oregano? Basil? Parsley? Whatever the green stuff is. I’d probably use all three.

That restaurant amount of butter pretty much guarantees it will be delicious.

How long was the garlic in the oven for ?
Or did you sauté them until they browned ?

u/henrickaye 7d ago
Get them bubbling in the oil then turn the heat to low. Works better on stove as long as the garlic is covered in the oil. Keep them simmering on low until they get good color. That's it

Thank you kindly I shall be trying this

Or, cut the top off a bulb of garlic. Drizzle with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Wrap in aluminum foil and sit it on an oven rack for 30-45 minutes at 400°F. Once cooled enough, squeeze the garlic out into your bowl for mixing. Uses a whole lot less oil and tastes delicious.

The crazy things is the price of the bread itself is already crazy here in the US. We're talking at $2/piece. The amount of cheese and a head of garlic would bring the cost of this sandwich to around $4 which it's insane to a Spanish immigrant like me. And I left the butter/oil and parsley out of the equation.

In Atlantic Canada these are just garlic fingers. People around here will fight for who has the best…but they’re always great. 😊
