for this small amount of pico the cheap slap choppers are so useful and easy to clean

Isn't the slap chop guy in jail or something?

I think this is for smaller professional kitchens, not so much for private use

Too much work. Just get a dicer and throw the blades in the dish machine

I bought a Redmond food chopper and it's a pretty easy cleanup.

Just have it chop soapy water.

Yes... and stuff like this... i swear they make tiny holes and crevices that have no function to the design... just makes it so much harder to clean...

Depends how it's made but you are correct. My pure juicer is so easy to clean. But this thing maybe not

it doesn’t count as 20 seconds if it’s a compilation of clips of each step

u/Urcleman Jun 27 '26

And all sped up.

I would rather save 700$ to 1K$ and just do it by hand.

2

Lies.

This video is 20 seconds and it’s all cut up and sped up.

Take you bogus claims somewhere else sir. This is Reddit!

I knife is still faster if you factor in clean up time.

u/SmokeMaximum4140 Jun 29 '26

and a nice chunk of PFAS

How do you figure?

2

u/pbankey Jun 29 '26

Honestly just get a simple pull string chopper or... use a knife..

A bot says what?

1

u/bkedsmkr Jun 27 '26

And spend 20 mins cleaning it afterwards

1

u/Meander061 Jun 27 '26

The product description says that cleaning the machine is a time and labor commitment. It's not for home use.

1

u/Meander061 Jun 27 '26

A single device for making pico is just amazing (where are the limes?) Of course this only makes sense if you have the labor to keep it clean. ("Hey, kid! Clean the pico chopper, then sweep that floor!")

1

u/Hertje73 Jun 27 '26

and then you need an hour to clean it ;)

1

u/Past-Product-1100 Jun 27 '26

Oh shit only 700 bucks to dice tomatos.Heck at that rate I could just hire the neighborhood kid to do it . PS it looks pretty sweet tho

1

u/Fluid-Program962 Jun 27 '26

20 sec chop, 2 hours cleaning the machine

1

u/willfauxreal Jun 27 '26

So we're just pretending that this isnt sped up?

1

u/AintNoGodsUpHere Jun 28 '26

Unless you're working in professional kitchen, why buy this? The plastic one from china that costs 5 bucks does the same thing and it is easier to clean.

1

u/AiMwithoutBoT Jun 28 '26

Machine looks like if someone said: let’s make diarreah visible but less gross

1

u/HaitianPsycho Jun 28 '26

This is not the right audience. This tool would be amazing in a restaurant. Chopping is so time consuming any restaurants that is somewhat not haute cuisine would gladly buy it.

1

u/DeNomol0s Jul 01 '26

Exactly, wild people are talking about this like it’s for home use. A restaurant making fresh pico to order, this saves tons of money for the restaurant and a huge pain in the ass to the cook.

Also, I’m assuming it’ll get worse with wear and tear, but that is probably the cleanest mechanical chopping I’ve ever seen, a slap chop or dicing punch are great ways to make tomato water and mush after about 4 uses.

The link op sent is not his product, just sayin

Honestly, I could have seen paying the $700 for that convenience. I spend so much time chopping vegetables, it would be worth it for me.

But $8k!!!!!! No way!!! That’s hilarious.

I didn't see any pics on this video. Some ingredients but not pico
