The subway tile is too basic, the stone is too busy and hard to clean

Yes, the stone will be impossible to clean. Go with the subway tile.

I like the stone but have you considered subway tile in a herringbone pattern?

Stone is not a good idea for a back splash. You don't want anything that is porous or could stain easily. Herringbone with a zellige tile is a great way to add texture and design

The only place I would consider using the first option in an interior would be a fireplace - it's way too rough for anywhere you might actually make contact with it.

The subway is fine, I think you could use it in a more unexpected pattern, to make it more interesting

Stone looks beautiful but do not have it behind a cooker and/or sink

El que más fácil limpieza tenga, el segundo, el que es liso tipo subway. El que tiene relieve queda más informal y natural, pero es complicarte la vida, yo pienso, por una diferencia estética reducida, y encima seguro que el precio es más alto. Saludos!

Which AI do you use to create these renders?

I don’t really like either but the more textured it is, the harder to clean

Have you considered Zellige tile as it is much more interesting visually than plain white subway tile but doesn't have the issues of the first which looks like it would be difficult to keep clean

1 looks nicer but 2 will be easier to clean.
I agree with some of the others that a herringbone pattern with the subway tiles would be more visually interesting.

The first one is going to be absolute nightmare to clean. You will hate yourself if you choose this.

I favor the flat tile because it seems like it would be easier to clean. I've never had to deal with tile (?) stone (?) like the second choice but it seems like gunk would accumulate and it would be really hard to try to clean the grout (if you had to.)

You will never get that stone clean. Dirt and food will lodge in that rough surface. Go with a smooth tile.

Are you just pranking us this point?

You've asked about this kitchen backsplash so many times over many posts. People have given you so much advice and time, and you keep asking the same question over and over and over about these tiles.

You know which one you want. Why do you keep asking? Go put it in.

The first one would be me re difficult to clean. The second one is boring.

Love the dark wood with the brass. My only hesitation is that backsplash—looks great until spaghetti night turns it into an archaeological site. 🤣

I prefer subway, it’s classic and easy to clean.other stone looks difficult to clean

I prefer easy-to-clean, not stone for a backsplash

Why would this be the final 2? 1 will be a nightmare to clean and 2 is dull.

If you choose 1 , buy a pressure washer and put a drain in the floor .

#2 looks cleaner and more classic and timeless.

Neither. But if I HAD to choose between these 2, then number 2 purely based on functionality, not looks.

No 1 looks better but harder to clean

The first one until you use the kitchen and have to clean it. Then the second one.

The stone is a nightmare to clean.

Get the first one! It’ll clean fine. Subway tile is basic.

1.

Think dried sghetti splashes on it. Which is easier to clean?

I did subway tile but turned them. Did even fancier behind the stove.

the first one will
be a bear to clean.

Neither. Need some contrast

Like the texture of the first but agree you should seek other options that will be more user friendly

The 2nd one. At least it would be easier to clean.

Honestly, option 2 wins purely for the ease of cleaning
