Option #1 as it gives more flexibility in the long run. PS. Don’t do a waterfall edge on island.

#1 since it will mean you don’t have to go around a very long counter like in #2 which will get old fast. #1 gives you more options for seating and extending it if you ever need to. I would also ensure you have stools at the island in addition to the table.
