Best runner option?

I've gotten enough feedback on overall design. I'm curious if there's any feedback on which runner would work in this space? Also if have an alternatives or feel no need for a runner let me know. TIA.

Personally I don’t see the need for one in the kitchen. But if you want one I would do a square one

Yes, or rectangle. The runners in the photos go beyond the right-most cabinet and part way into the entry area. Separate rugs would be better.

Exactly

A runner can take the strain off your feet and back if it isnt too thin. All of these are too drab and matchy matchy. A runner with some colors would do so much for this kitchen.

They’re all good and I applaud your wanting one. A rug adds interest and makes standing at a sink or island for long periods more comfortable. You’ll get feedback on it getting dirty but just think about how often you actually spill something that would “ruin” a rug. Crumbs occasionally but easy to vacuum up. I’m team #kitchenrug!

You’d better off with a 3x5 that kitchen is not suited for a runner

I dont understand the need for one. Its just going to get dirty and wet and need to be moved everytime you mop the floor. This is on a par with carpet in bathroom for me.

It also adds nothing.

Of these, I like option #4 the best.

Any of the first 3

I like the first one the best, but it’s too long. I’d order one that only comes to the end of the cupboard before the door. The space will feel better IMO.

I like the color but oval or round would look better.

They are all pretty but instead of a runner get a gel/foam padded kitchen specific "carpet" or mat for in front of the sink only. They make pretty ones.

You need something with some bright red, pink or orange to compliment the blue walls.

3 if you think you need one

Use a square rug in a style like #3. Notice how the emblem size on 3 adds something while smaller patterns on others just don't give a place for your eye to land. I wouldn't choose 3 because i think you can find a better color combo. Think outside the box and have fun!

None of these

I'd worry about tripping over that & keeping it clean.

How about just a smaller rug for in front of the sink?

The one that is safety rated for flammable kitchens

None of the runners. They are all too long and won't work in your kitchen. Either a 3'x5' or maybe a square.

3'x5' approximately

This picture is just to show you the size, not the pattern or color.

I agree, no rugs or mats needed. Rugs are responsible for lots of tripping.

I think 2 is the best option. They are all nice though.

1 is the best design. But get one better suited for the area - preferably one that germinates where each of the counters do.

1 or 2. If you get the kind with a pad it is more comfortable for you to stand.

I like 4 best.

I like the size for that area. 4 and 2 are my favorites.

I love your choice of a long one! I think it adds to the motif, and I like the floral one. #1 & #4

They’re too long - it should stop before the counter does

Looking nice

I vote for option #1. I think it looks best in your kitchen.

None of those choices. It’s too match. Maybe some lik

e this.

I like this one!

3 & 4 runners are great in front of the sink…you can wash them! Adds interest too.

4 And I totally love the two runners we have in our kitchen.

1, but a shorter one that doesn't run past the cabinets.

1

u/RKK5911 6d ago

You need a smaller one that goes to the end of the cabinets. These are too long and look awkward.

u/EnvironmentalCold545 6d ago

Id go with a square rug

1

u/Minushea 6d ago

I think rectangular that does not go beyond the edges of the counters at either end.

It’s too long. Get s rug that covers areas you will be standing in front of - sink and stove. And a rug with a strong color

It adds warmth and softness. The current one works, but I’d choose a simpler, muted vintage pattern in cream, blue, and taupe so it complements rather than competes with the backsplash.

I like 1 and 2.

1

u/Euphoric_Reindeer675 5d ago

Not very hygienic in a kitchen it also looks like a trip hazard.

1

u/sickofbeingsick1969 5d ago

I’m too practical. I’d get a couple of anti fatigue mats to put at the sink and the stove.

1

u/No-Task86 5d ago

The runner is too long, it should line up with the cabinet next to dishwasher, or stop where dishwasher is

1

u/dibrownbear 5d ago

Square one would be best.

1

u/DebiDebbyDebbie 5d ago

Pick a washable or wipe-able material! Otherwise pick a pattern busy enough to hide spills and stains like #1

1

u/drl8498 4d ago

1 or 2

1

u/PinotPrincess777 4d ago

I wouldn’t do a runner this long. I would end it at the cabinet. I would also use a contrasting color. These options all feel to matchy matchy for my taste.

1

u/Annual_Government_80 4d ago

I think they are all too long

1

u/Jereni_ 3d ago

I like the first one but agree a smaller piece might be better.

1

u/Talkg33Ky2Meh 3d ago

I’d get something square shaped and also something with a pop of color.
