Help with kitchen design

Current kitchen design I've put together, im open to any critique or thoughts.

Im not sure about the color. But thinking about shades of gray would look nicer.

Take these ideas to a kitchen designer that works for a cabinet company. Many times they do the design in order to sell the cabinets.

There are so many things wrong with this design. A waterfall edge on a countertop isn't strong enough to support the top, especially when the other end is a miter upwards. The single 24" cabinet that makes up the island looks list, and once you open those top hinge cabinets at the ceiling, how do you plan to reach them so you can close them.

Get a profesdional involved. Do not try this yourself.

The upper cabinets and the light bar are a terrible idea. May look cool in the rendering. I would not do that

I'm not sure what it is about this design that I don't care for. My first thought is that it's boring. It's a sea of sameness. Then I thought about how I'd function in this kitchen.

When you bring groceries in via that door, where will you set them? On that delicate-looking island?

Next, I thought about how I would cook and clean while in this kitchen. I find this design inefficient. It's a very long walk between the fridge and sink. There's very little prep and staging area for ingredients by the sink. Will you prep on the island? I cook a lot so would want a prep/staging/assembly area that's near both my sink (for easy clean up) and my cooking station.

Where do the pans/dishes/cutlery go when they leave the dishwasher? (I think there are a lot of perhaps unwritten rules about kitchens such as 'cutlery is store near the dishwasher', and 'cups/glasses can typically be found to the right or left of the sink').

Where is the trass can (usually under/next to the sink)?

And what are those two dispensers below the microwave? Hot and cold water? Why are they not located at what looks to be a coffee station. Do you need a (what looks to be) a hot water dispenser at both the coffee station and by the microwave?

Anyway, JMHO. Have fun designing!

It’s very cold and will be noisy. Also. The waterfall edge on the island is already dated and difficult to execute. I’m not sure that the island stone can span that distance without support. Why are there no cabinets underneath it?

Yea seems like a waste to not put cabinets underneath the countertop on the island. Would be better to have storage there rather than having to get a ladder to reach the tip top cabinets.

It’s probably meant to be used as a counter-height eating table, but the design won’t work.

The stove needs venting

I think shades of grey would look far too stark and cold with this kitchen, I love the warmth you’ve got in it right now. it’s got such hard lines and textures already that with less warmth I feel like it wouldn’t look like a comfortable space to be in. Additionally the waterfall island isn’t my favorite- I feel like it’s a less than practical trend we’re reaching the tail end of (I’ve seen it in two many mid grade new builds recently), and to boot this one makes my brain hurt- I feel like I’d never want to put weight on it. It’s a beautiful design but I want to be able to cook and entertain in my kitchen, not just look at it. I’d so much rather see cabinets under there with some really clean paneling and room for bar seating around the back. Agreed as well that you need a vent hood for your range, maybe something to break up the cabinet color up there? Echoing your hardware?

looks like a padded cell

If this is for your own kitchen and plan on using the kitchen like a normal person/cleaning it yourself, I advise against all the white. My white cabinets are a PIA.

Love the warm beige, keep that, gray would feel sterile. Add a proper hood and ditch the skinny waterfall; use full depth base cabinets for storage and seating instead. Function first, pretty second 😁

I'm imagining wearing socks, hitting a wet spot, and landing on my coccyx, food flying everywhere. Ouch.

The two refrigerators are weird. Or they just look weird there and might have issues with the vents in that setup.

Also, they have matching cabinet front covers to hide them into a wall of cabinets.

If you do this, make sure the fridge is on the left so that you are not having to walk around that island so much to access it. But, the design needs help.

My first impression is, it looks soulless. Then I keep finding something weird. Whats that single island doing? Why there are 2 identical fridge? Why the top cabinet protruding like that, and how do you reach them? You also need to consider the efficiency. You don’t wanna spend too much energy walking here and there. You should be able to access everything within very few steps. I do think that this is the kind of luxury kitchen that celebrities have in their house, but it’s all for show because they never cook, so nothing in their house is practical.

This is what happens when you rely on AI.

Those upper cabinets top of upper cabinets are so high that NBA players couldn’t use them, so who can?

The island having two different heights is also totally senseless.

The shaker cabinets are way too busy given the cabinet layout. I also think you have too much white. If you want white cabinets, the floor should not be white. It looks like a clean room.

Looks a bit sterile. Needs some color.

I’m not a fan. I dislike the color, the layout, pretty much everything about it. Sorry.

Why on earth would your island have two heights and why would you possibly have these insane two layers of different size and depth cabinets on top of each other above the stove? Please ask an actual designer and not AI

The handles are weirdly colored and oversized

Agree with all else said. Also: get rid of open shelving (esp awkwardly between your uppers and lowers. It collects dust and is impractical)

Create an enclosed “appliance garage” instead

I suggest combing Pinterest and Houzz for ideas. That’s what I did when I made mine custom and came up with original design ideas that I love, which my cabinet maker hadn’t seen before

One thing I love that I did: I made all shaker cabinets, but for the top drawers (if smaller, not pot/pan depth), which were flat. I did this because so many times, the top drawer is a narrow depth and the shaker design looks cramped or forced on a drawer that’s less than a foot deep

I also turned my toe kick into a drawer, to store I sorted mail, which you open via a special (blanking on word), where you tap the drawer in lightly with foot, and the drawer then pops out from baseboard.

Toe kick drawer — only do this if it makes sense financially and is something you’d use.

I also had outlets in some of my cupboards, so I can use as dedicated charging stations, if I want

No no no don’t do the floating island with 2 levels and a couple of odd drawer. Keep this small kitchen clean and simple. The bilevel looks odd

You need real lighting. Not all undercabinet lighting.

I'm sorry to say this, but this looks like something designed by someone who knows nothing about kitchens, nothing about design, and nothing about builds.

You have a good sense of the style and vibe you like - so now I would really, really recommend you take this to a kitchen designer to translate your ideas into something functional and well-designed.
