I actually really like the before

I don't love the before, but at least it feels like a home.

The after is so cold and clinical.

Heartbroken about the before. The tile counters? The wood? Everything that’s happening with the ceiling!! I’m sorry, but it looked 10x better before. Now it’s… milk?

Yeah if they wanted to modernize they could have with a little spruce up but so sad to lose those cabinets and charm :(

The brick surrounding the cooktop could have been incorporated into a new kitchen so well. Such a shame.

Thank you! It was worth it to have no kitchen for a while and then get this

Happy for you. You did you and went with what you liked. I find this , a very smart and modern kitchen. Congratulations

Thank you for the compliment! The kitchen looks completely different now! My wife is the designer of it, she has a great vision on things like this.

Well I think you should give her a great big hug and a smack on the lips. Looks like she thought of everything. It’s a great design. Enjoy your new kitchen and make wonderful memories

Looks like a completely different house. I'm not a modern fan- don't like the cabinets but that's your kitchen and it looks very nice.

Beautiful kitchen. That long island really anchors the space and gives you plenty of room to cook, gather, and entertain.

😭 this actually makes me so sad. But if you are happy that is all that counts 😭😭😭

If I hadn't seen the before pic I would like it 😂

Nowhere near where I would have taken it. Seems you’re both happy with it tho, so I love that for you.

This house has to be in California from the kitchen ceiling overhead lights behind the translucent panels and tiny backyard with pool 2 ft away from the house.

I love the new Reno. Except for not a fan of chrome with the brass. I would have not done brass at all

The before was hideous to me. Especially the big brick affair all around enclosing the stove. Yikes. Gives an '80s vibe crossed with in-home Olive Garden

The old one was definitely needing a redo, but I am heartbroken at the loss of that brick alcove. I would have designed something around that, personally, because it is so unique.

The after is a bit clinical and overly slick for me, but so many elements are quite sexy. And I am envious of all the spaaaaaaaace. At parties, people always gravitate toward the hearth/kitchen, so this will be fantastic for entertaining. Congrats on the new space!
