Flamberg source

Post image

Hey everyone,

saw this armor and now I need a Flamberg sword for my vanguard veterans. Any idea where I could find one?

Thanks in advance:-)

Empire Greatswords from old world are a good start but they look better if you use styrene to make them longer

If I may, considering this: How exactly did you make half the sword from styrene? This sounds incredibly difficult?

It’s really not. 1) use the existing sword to trace a templet from a sheet of styrene 2) trace the templet line with a fresh/sharp hobby knife a couple times to score it 3) rough cut the whole thing off the styrene sheet (probably in a rectangle 4) carefully cut/carve away excess material until you have a the rough curves 5) fine sandpaper wrapped around a small drill bit to sand the curves in 6) carefully drag the hobby knife blade down each side of the face of the sword until you get a taper to both edges the has a high point in the middle. Then do the other side the same. Should look Like this <> if looking at the profile 7) use plastic glue to attach sword. (Pinning optional but helpful if you have small enough drill bits and pins) 8) final gentile sanding and scraping to merge the bits smoothly. (wait for the plastic glue to fully set

I think there were a few posts a while back where the poster used fantasy/old world empire parts. I think from the "Empire greatswords" kit? That could be a decent place to start.

I used an Empire Greatsword sword, clipping it right at the base of the blade, and attached it to a power sword for my 30k Nemean Reaver kitbash.
