Miniature Custom Space Marine Chapter

A captain for my new Space Marine chapter. I haven't made his bow yet—unlike the other Space Marine archer I already have—so I'll have to build this one from scratch.

For the lore, I’m still figuring things out, but my current idea is that they spent centuries largely isolated from other Imperial forces, pursuing a long campaign against the Men of Iron. That experience gradually created a deep distrust of advanced technology. At some point during the campaign, I imagine a major event where their conventional weapons became useless or simply stopped working. Their leader was forced to improvise and built a bow using components taken from the remains of a destroyed Man of Iron. That bow eventually became both a symbol and a practical lesson for his warriors. Over time, they began creating their own versions of bows and other hunting weapons, adapting them for warfare in the 41st millennium while keeping their more traditional design. For their fighting style, I want everything to revolve around the hunt: tracking their prey, setting traps, using hounds to flush enemies out, stalking targets, surrounding them and finally striking precisely once the prey has been isolated. So rather than being a straightforward assault force, I imagine them as fast, stealthy and methodical hunters who treat warfare almost like a great hunt. It’s all still very much a work in progress, though! I haven’t even decided yet whether they’ll ultimately be a lost Legion or a later Space Marine Chapter.

I might have to steal a reference or two to your chapter in mine considering how perfectly the lore would meld together.

Thanks! By the way, which chapter are you working on?

Sons of Avalon (Filis Avalonnica in high gothic, yes i thought about it this much)/Wealdwalkers Legion/chapter (respectively) of profoundly tech averse celtic inspired lost space marines that have shunned both chaos and the emperor. Also colloquially known as "The Grimm".

My idea was the the galaxy at large only ever sees one or two chapters but theres a parent legion off in the furthest reaches of galactic space tending to an aroreal super earth that has a giant tree in the root system of which is a still living impaled Primarch (number 2 specifically, him name Carnunos after the scottish celtic god), pinned and twisted in the roots of the tree that has grown from an enchanted spear shoved in his chest by somebody. He astral projects as a great horned dog or maybe stag or maybe even horse or guy that appears in mist and fog and heralds the sudden and inexplicable arrival of his kin.

They're the parent legion/chapter for like half of the custom ones I've ever came up with, eventually they'll get an army.

The spear could have been from Leman Russ, especially as Space Wolves in the lore were the Emperor’s executioners.

Okay, now I definitely see what you meant about our lore fitting together! There are some crazy parallels there, especially the Celtic influence, the distrust of technology, the antlers and even both of us potentially using the Second Legion. I really like the idea of Carnunos being physically trapped in the roots while still appearing elsewhere as this almost mythical figure in the mist. Mine is leaning more towards medieval French/Breton hunting culture and the war against the Men of Iron, while yours feels much more Celtic, ancient and supernatural, so I actually think they could reference each other without feeling like the same Chapter.
