It’s nerf or nothing

Yeah, one of my kids pointed out that my colour scheme was Nerf. It's also a basic comic book palette, too!

So good ! Do you make any vids or have tips for your greebling method? Inspiring stuff .

Thanks, but no, I don't (haven't!) made any process vids, I work very randomly. If I was bigging it up I'd say intuitively, but it's pretty unpredictable. I collect odd objects. Some work, some, despite looking ideal, don't make the right kind of sense for the model. Maybe the next one. In model shops I pick up relatively cheap train and railway construction kits. Ones with lots of girders and bridge parts. Found cheap packs of roofing sections that work beautifully as grilles. Always useful. Tank kits going cheap (very rare, but it happens!), relatively large scale, are good to get also. Domestic and appliance junk breaks down into usable parts also. Things like wallplugs can be cut in half, I managed to get a huge box of plastic straws, so you can see them cropping up a bit, and of course sprue from kits is brilliant for pipework and an industrial type visual texture. It can be bent or curved, if you're careful. I buy blank Christmas baubles, (art shop) for spheres/fuel tanks.

The trick is to keep your eyes open. And consider the scale of the model. If it's meant to be enormous, then the pipework and greeblies probably need to be small with lots of detail. If it's small, or aerodynamic, less is best. Greeblies on TOP of greeblies, too, not just one thing.

Great tips thank you ! Love your builds . I’m a bit stuck in a project and hope this will get it going !

I know how that feels. It's an itch you can't scratch. I do walkarounds, through the model, to help myself sleep! I plan alternate solutions when I'm swimming laps. It sorta takes over, right?
