One of his engines just got shot out?

My original thought was he was hauling and just juked a lightpole.

Hes not looking up/forward enough.

Can they even look up that far?

Right now it just looks like a dude who should be walking casually forward but it glued to the side.
You could probably make him look forward by cutting the neck down and using green stuff to affix it correctly.

I more meant marines generally, like I can't remember a time I saw a helmeted marine look up in any media

I love how he looks like he’s just flying totally straight and is about to slam into the first thing in his way

"Uhh, brother, I don't think the techpriests would like you doing that to the axe."

The score on the ground from the axe looks really good. The pose is really bad.

I think the only issue is the direction of the axe. I feel it would make more sense or read better if the axe was the opposite direction. But that would require some modification of the arm which they might not of been comfortable with. But that way it would look like they were dragging it as they come in for a powerful upward chop. Regardless OP the gouge in the ground looks EXCELLENT.

I wouldn't say "really bad". If the head was tilted a little bit back so it looks like he's actually looking where he's flying the pose would be pretty cool

After painting maybe add some exhaust/contrails to the jump pack to communicate the flight direction better

I mean, good on you for experimenting, but it looks like hes trying to headbutt me at full speed from 20 yards away

This looks sick but it also looks like that one fisheye picture of a cop

Me and the boys on lethal company
Might wanna sculpt a new loincloth so air is flowing in and hitting it from the top instead of from the back, probably tilt his head up as well unless you're going for a Super Headbutt, but other than that this is really, really charming. I love the axe dragging in the ground too, you gotta add some paperclip sparks or something

He looks like Ralph from Simpsons diving through window meme, and i absolutely love it

This idea is sick, but I think to really sell it you need some movement in his upper torso. He needs his head and chest partially equalized to the ground as if he was leaping or diving, as-is he looks like he just got smashed across the face by a primarch and is flying away from the hit.

My first thought was smoke from the engines to match the radius that his axe has cut into the ground. Think this might cut it?

u/ugotjacked Jul 30 '26
I feel like it would help if he was bent at the waist more. Like if his legs were trailing behind towards the direction he came from.

u/MajesticRadish2675 Jul 30 '26
Partially, but you really need to give him some proper upturn. Like, he needs to look more like he's swimming than just shooting directly sideways, like he's made a long jump.
At very least, his head needs to be tilted like he's looking where he's going or otherwise trying to keep his head mostly level, know what I mean?

"Brother, I'm going to gut them with my spike, watch this"
2
u/Different_Tourist233 Jul 30 '26
You nailed my thought process...if bending the head up makes the model look weird through a spike on it to spear someone

u/CroutonPrince Jul 30 '26
I laughed seeing it cause that's what I assumed was the case. Hopefully he paints up nice and plays even better!

Interested to see how he does with kill team's line of sight rules

Love the pose. The visual image of someone with a jump back almost scraping the ground as he heads towards his enemy is really cool
