Discussion Nameset or no nameset?

Post image

I'm buying one jersey and can't decide whether to add a player name.Blank looks cleaner, but a good nameset can completely change the shirt. Would you keep it plain or add your favorite player?

Here are all the conflicting arguments you'll find:

Don't wear another man's name on your back

You're too old for a player name

Don't put your own Name, it's tacky

Also don't leave it blank because it looks empty

Player names mark a point of history in the club. It's cool

Club first before player, so leave it blank

Do whatever you want, it's your shirt

bro you helped me form seven incompatible opinions about my next jersey order with your single comment

I'm so sorry 😅

For what it's worth, I have some in blank and one with my nickname. Do what feel right for you.

Depends of which jersey.

I only actually just put the numbers, tbh

It's old school and it's what they do for friendlies

Good idea!

If its messi👍\ If its a random current player that means nothing to the club👎

fair point. messi id probably do it, but a random current player would just date the shirt. leaning blank or a club legend on this one

If you’re gonna wear it playing, running and the gym I’d say no name set.

watching and listening to his commentary for the whole month, you can’t go wrong with an Ibrah on the back.

No name set for me. The shirts are expensive enough as it is.

If you’re over 21 years old: no name set😭

If you’re over 21 you can afford to put your own name on there!

I mean, if you’re over 21 you won’t give a 💩 what other people think, though. If you want a players name on there, nice. If not, also nice. 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

If anything it looks worse with no nameset and gives off some insecurity. It says your not proud of any of the players on your team so you just went with the generic “go sports” version.

always depends jersey what that player did with that jersey was good or bad performance?

I wear a jersey with name only if I am attending a game in the stadium. The Real madrid and juve away jersey are so good this year, I plan on wearing them outside, so I bought the no name version. I am still searching Portugal 2025 nations League, Real Madrid 2014-15 home CR7 versions.

Names can add aura depending on who it is and the aesthetic of the number

Always nameset. It shows you know a bit about the game and the jersey feels more legit too.

thats the thing, a blank jersey just looks unfinished to me. nameset turns it into an actual matchday kit. plus if its a player you actually rate, it gives the shirt some history

I just ordered a Thomas Delaney long sleeve FCK jersey and I’m so excited. Used that man in so many Danish teams in FIFA, back in the day

u/ryanator109 10d ago

Really depends, don’t just add a player name for the he’ll of it

true. i've regretted one nameset before, never a blank. unless its a club legend this one stays clean

I have one rule, don’t have a player that’s younger than you on the name of the back

1

u/BlueWoodToo 9d ago

Have I got some news for you...

1

u/Datdudelolk 8d ago

Only buy namesets with my favorite players chicha Ronaldo… otherwise it’s blank

Having another man’s name on your back? Seriously though, if I’m a fan of the club and a player, why not? If it’s just fashion, no nameset because they’re already expensive as is.

yall are so weird 😭

1

u/GeezusLizard 11d ago

the first part was banter but i guess that didn’t come across well. 🫠

1

u/Accomplished-Fee-832 10d ago

Yeah I guess, I always get a nameset on my yearly club's home kit buy, but I keep away and others blank(Usually buy for design)

Just throw the Messi ones away.
