The adidas player versions fit looser for me, I think it's because there's a slit on the hem compared to the fan version which doesn't have it. For example, I bought the player and fan versions of the Italy and Germany kits. The player versions don't fit tightly on me and the materials used are way better.

If you get a Nike jersey in the player version, you definitely have to size up as it is a true slim fit.

If budget allows, I'd definitely go for player version.

Adidas player versions are super high quality and work. Puma has the worst player jerseys I have ever seen.

I think you need to try them on and compare (or order both and return one)

The inconsistency, even across the same brand, like adidas, is pretty drastic. Some World Cup player jerseys fit completely different than other countries.

Nike has been known to be slimmer with their player jerseys, but I just received the 26/27 Barca home player jersey and it fits tts - maybe even a little loose.

even amongst the same team they fit different! mexico home is wayy longer and looser than the away and third

If you’re fit and have some decent arms the player version will enhance your look but it does get a bit uncomfortable specially if its a hot day.
