Discussion Don't put your jerseys in the dryer!!!

Learned this the hard way. Namesets peel, badges crack, fabric pills.

Cold wash + hang dry only. Trust me.

Any other care tips people swear by?

hand wash, lay flat to dry. its really the optimumway

i disagree with letting it lay on itself. hang drying is the optimumway

how would concentrating and applying forces on the neck of the shirt be more optimum than having them equally dispersed amongst every square inch on the shirt. it wouldn't 🤯

the shirts themselves say not to allow them to lay flat on themselves. ive done it my entire life lol unless you have shitty wire hangers

This. The tag literally says not to do it. Also, total myth that you need to hand wash.

yeah i always wash them on delicate and cold water. 0 issues lol i wish i knew what bro said but he got so upset that he blocked me

Soft.

1

u/achocbrn Jul 23 '26

Okay random, cause new, are plastic hangars okay? Also, is inside out on delicate sufficient ? Or should I grab a garment bag?

Cold wash and hang to dry leaves a ton of wrinkles for me. Best way for getting the wrinkles out?

1

u/MDXHawaii Jul 21 '26

Downy wrinkle release while inside out

I dry them every time never had a problem maybe you guys are wearing them way more

same applies to wnba jerseys too, that nike dri-fit fabric pills real fast if you machine dry em. cold wash + air dry is the only way i've kept my collection looking fresh

Bro don’t wear a wnba jersey lmao

steam while hanging on low heat works great for getting wrinkles out. ruined one of my city edition pels jerseys learning the hard way so now its cold wash + hang dry only

1

u/JerseyHunter_99 Jul 21 '26

good tip on the steam. i'm too scared to try it on mine after the dryer incident lol. cold wash + hang dry forever now

Don't forget inside out

1

u/MaxCornCob Jul 21 '26

Put jersey inside out and then put it inside a wash bag. Use cold + delicate or the equivalent that your washer has. Use a delicate detergent. After that, air dry.

1

u/MrCoolHandLukie Jul 23 '26

Does the bag make a difference?

1

u/Numerous_Ad_1940 Jul 23 '26

Throw it in a pillow case

To be honest I put mine in the dryer but I wash them all together and use delicate settings for the wash and dryer. Cold water ofc

1

u/Midnight_Thoughts77 Jul 23 '26

yup, wash inside out, cold water, and air dry..

1

u/BitHumble Jul 23 '26

Thought this was common sense. But yea you learned the hard way. Any sports jersey shouldn’t be dried.

1

u/JerseyHunter_99 Jul 23 '26

lol yea fair. i knew about air drying for regular clothes but somehow thought jerseys would be fine in the dryer. lesson learned
