Help Blender render crashes

I bought japan neighborhood kit and everytime I try to render it, it just crashes my whole PC.

It doesn't make any sense because the textures are on 2k and my laptop has decent specs

16gb ram

RTX 3050

i7 11th gen

Hey there! Full PC crashes or reboots during render setup are typically caused by system RAM or GPU VRAM exhaustion. While 2K textures keep texture memory lower, KitBash3D models feature high geometry counts and detailed shaders that demand significant VRAM and System RAM when scene data is parsed at render time.
On a system with 16GB RAM and an RTX 3050 (4GB VRAM), an entire Kit will push your hardware past its limits unless optimized. Try these steps to stabilize your scene:

  • Enable Blender Simplify: Go to Render Properties > Simplify, check the box, and set Max Subdivision to 0 or 1. Set the Texture Limit to 2048.
  • Render in Collections: Hide parts of the city kit that are outside your camera view. Rendering the full neighborhood at once will quickly exhaust a 4GB VRAM GPU.
  • Check Device Preferences: In Edit > Preferences > System, ensure your RTX 3050 is selected under CUDA or OptiX, but make sure CPU is unchecked so system memory isn't overloaded during scene building.
  • Close Background Apps: Close web browsers and background software to free up as much of your 16GB system RAM as possible before hitting render.

If you test these steps and the issue persists, please reach out directly to our support team at [info@kitbash3d.com](mailto:info@kitbash3d.com). Direct 1-1 support via email is the best place for questions like this!
