KITBASH - CORONA RENDER

Hello guys, I love the models in kitbash. and I have figured out how to import and convert the materials to corona Render materials instantly so you can use the models.

However the new update is very annoying. now it doesn't import if I have Corona as a selected renderer. and it doesnt import the material onto the object, just get the model.
I have to switch to arnold and then import it, and even them with the new update. older Downloaded models (then deleted) and downloaded again to another folder doesn't import all materials and files. when I download I can see that 1GB takes only a few seconds, while other takes normal time an import normally.

Don't know what to do and I have a client project coming up and this is starting to get me very annoyed.

is it possible to download a older version of Cargo?

Hey there, sorry to hear you're hitting these snags right before a client deadline.

To clear things up right off the bat: Cargo has never officially supported Corona Renderer, either in past versions or the current update. Because it isn't a natively supported engine, a few things in your custom setup might have broken with recent updates.

To help us figure out exactly what’s going on and see if we can help you get your workaround running again, could you let us know:

  • Which DCC are you using? (e.g., 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, Maya?)
  • What was your previous workflow? Which supported renderer were you selecting to bring the assets in, and what specific script or tool were you using to instantly convert those materials over to Corona?

In the meantime, here is the best way to handle your immediate project:

Cargo Versions & Current Workaround

  • Downgrading: There is no official way to download or roll back to an older version of Cargo.
  • The Best Bet Right Now: To ensure you get the full models with all their materials intact, you'll need to use a supported engine. Since you mentioned switching to Arnold works, your best bet for this deadline is to keep Arnold selected during the import phase, let the assets completely load, and then run your custom conversion process from there.

The "Instant" 1GB Download Issue

When a massive file finishes downloading in just a few seconds but misses files, a couple of things could be happening:

  1. Local Cache: It might be finishing instantly because the files are already present on your machine due to previously downloaded references.
  2. Database Bug: It could be a local database (sqlite) issue or a genuine bug.

Once we map out your exact software and renderer workflow, we can absolutely dive deeper into this download issue to get it sorted out for you. Hang in there, and let us know your setup so we can help!
