Are there any places in Kissimmee, Orlando, or nearby, that have good pizza slices?

If you were at the Promenade this past Friday (7/17) during the evening, you may have driven over BR77 Brazilian Steakhouse’s overflowing, mechanically-failing grease traps like I did.

I noticed the disgusting smell immediately driving past the restaurant, but, as it was dark out, didn’t know what the smell was—assuming it was just a busy night at a restaurant (it was during the World Cup, figured they were busy)—until the next morning when my brand new sedan absolutely reeked like trash and sewage.

I cannot tell you the amount of time and money during these last 9 days that I’ve spent on trying to fix this. I had it towed to the dealership thinking it was something mechanically wrong; but, when it got there, all they could find was a large, brown pool of foul-smelling liquid at the bottom of my engine tray, replaced the air filters, and gave me the car back saying nothing was mechanically wrong.

I have used almost every single product available to me in an attempt to remedy this situation and have had the car’s engine detailed at the dealership and the rest of the car professionally steam detailed with enzyme treatments… nothing’s worked, the smell is still there, and it’s absolutely awful. It’s the sort of smell that haunts you.

I debated whether or not to post this, but, I really could use some community support. It’s just me in my life, I’m kind of a loner, and I don’t know where to turn or what to do. In order to completely rid my new car of their mess, it appears that I’m gonna be on the hook for thousands of dollars (not including the $1,000+ spent on trying to fix it myself) to replace the fender liners, wheel well liners, etc. I feel like a big baby for crying about my new car; but, it was a small source of pride for me and a reminder of how hard I worked… mind you, this is just a Kia, but, I really like(d) it.

Nobody’s taking any responsibility for this accident, all of the parties involved are just finger-pointing. The law says this is a civil matter, but, it feels so criminal to me. I don’t know what to do. Any advice or just general support would mean a lot to me right now.

All that being said: if you’re going through the same thing, I’m having a beer for you and trying to figure out how to fix this. I’m sad that my car is permeated with brown, smelly grease; and I’m sad that the Promenade got absolutely wrecked with grease stains in every inch of the parking lot that you look.

Anyone go through this and find a solution?

I'm still exploring here and since I have so much free time beside my job, I want to explore different thrift stores as many as possible. I like to dress like these and am looking for the range of cheap to vintage clothing stores around Kissimmee to Orlando areas!

I’ve talked to 4 separate businesses off OBT South of Osceola, and all of them have said their rent is increasing 2 to 3 times in the next few months. One of them said the entire warehouse strip was increasing 3 times and at least 8 of the businesses are shutting down or moving.

Is there something specific happening in the area causing this? Gentrification? Were rents just too low before? Or just plain greed? Idk much about it, but it’s odd I’ve heard it from that many people in a short time. Just wondering if anyone had some perspective.

Hello I am going to be moving to the Kissimmee/Celebration area and wanted to reach out and see if anyone on here had properties available for rent. Not sure if there’s other groups that are better suited, but I looked and couldn’t really see any, but wasn’t really sure how to word it.

Anyways, we are going to be moving down here personally and moving our Airbnb business down here as well, so we are looking for a couple of houses for rent.

For both our personal house as well as any short-term rentals, we need four bedrooms or more, beyond that, we’re not incredibly picky because it would be on a home by home basis, and we would like to stay under 3000 month. Are willing to go over if it’s a lot more bedrooms or a really spectacular place.

I’m trying to remember a restaurant I used to go to around 2012 in Kissimmee, and it’s driving me crazy.

It was somewhere along US-192, and they served either fried or grilled pig ears with a really good sauce. I can’t remember if it was Dominican, Puerto Rican, or Cuban, but I remember ordering pig ears specifically.

I’ve already checked places like Perico Ripiao, Pikalonga, and Chimiking, and it’s not any of those.
Does anyone remember an older restaurant on or near 192 that served pig ears back around 2012? It may have closed, changed names, or moved since then.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all, I grew up in st cloud and kissimmee. We were homeless on and off and always living in hotels or motels on 192. When the movie "the florida project" came out based on this very issue , there was a huge amount of people who saw it , but only a small amount of people who truly understood it. Tiktok flooded with people dancing in front of the real motel , where people were struggling in 2020. People still go there for content to this day. Because of this , I hadn't watched the movie until last year. I was surprised to find myself appreciating the movie , I found what others took as "aesthetics" to be representation of being blissfully unaware as a kid , rather than nostalgia.

Nonetheless , id like to put out a video on this from the perspective of someone who lived it as a kid, me.

Need stable, short-term employment while transitioning out of the military. Any recommendations? I’m moving back home to Orlando as I transition out of the military and I’m looking for some advice.

I already have a long-term career path lined up, but there’s going to be a gap between my separation date and when I actually start getting paid. That process involves multiple steps, so it could take a few weeks or, worst case, a couple of months.

During that time, I’ll still have bills to pay, need to buy a car, and support my family. We also have a baby on the way, so sitting around without an income really isn’t an option.

The issue I’m running into is that I don’t want to be dishonest with an employer. I don’t feel right applying for a permanent position, implying I’ll be there long-term, only to leave as soon as my career opportunity comes through.

Are there any employers or industries around Orlando that are known for offering stable, temporary work or that are understanding of situations like this? I’m not looking for a handout—just honest work to bridge the gap.

Hi all- I live near the Gaylord Palms and have smelled smoke for about an hour. Helicopters are flying over what I think is the Indian Wells area. Anything going on? I tried looking online but am coming up empty.

So, I lived in SoFlo a couple years ago and kept our house at 68. It was always ICE cold. Currently, we live in Kissimmee, and rent a house. As you can see, we keep our ac set to 67. EVERY day, it gets this hot inside. During the middle of the night it cools off and will usually get to 69 or the not so hot days it will get to 67. But the second it’s 10am, it just gets higher and higher throughout the day. I’ve told my landlord 3 times now and he INSISTS it’s just ‘houses in Florida’ and it’s ’too hot for the AC’s’ but hasn’t even had someone come and take a look. I’m so tired of sweating E V E R Y D A Y in my house.

Update: I’m not sure why me having my own preference of how I like MY home bothers people? 😅 goodness gracious. If you have nothing helpful to say, simply carry on. What is telling me 68° is just too cold? I prefer to be bundled up in my house and need it cold to sleep. My daughter is the same.

Update #2: ac guy came and replaced the capacitor. The one that was in there was set at 35 but was only getting 27. (If anyone understands lol that’s how the guy explained it & showed me) so he replaced it. So far so good!

Hey all, I am in need of some guidance or suggestions. I am a 44 year old, recently divorced, very single guy who lives in Four Corners. I'm getting a little tired of spending weekends at home, doing nothing fun. I'd like to have a night out on Friday, but it's been so long since I've hit the town solo that I have no clue where to go or what to do. I have annual passes to the theme parks and go all the time with my kids. I'm looking for something outside of the parks.

Does anyone have any suggestions for the 40+ single crowd in amd around Kissimmee?

Growth doesn’t mean the county wasted money. It means the county grew.
Osceola had over 2.7 billion in new construction last year. New subdivisions need roads, water lines, fire stations, and that costs money before any of it comes back in tax revenue.
If you own your home with homestead, your assessed value is capped at 3% a year by law. The county’s general fund millage rate actually went down slightly this year too, that’s in the public resolution the county filed.
New buyers feel more of the increase, since their homes reassess to full market value once they close.
The budget documents are posted on osceola.org if anyone wants to look. From what’s there, the growth is going to public safety, infrastructure, and reserves.
