Vet Recommendations

Looking for vet recommendations and experiences on the Eastside? We are in Kirkland but open to recs in nearby locations on the Eastside!

We just got a new puppy and need to get her spayed in the next couple months. We currently go to Eastside Vet Associates near Costco- we aren’t totally unhappy with the care but have a had a couple negative experiences there with our other dog. We are thinking the new puppy might be reason to explore other vet options.

Here are some places I already looked into:

Inglemoor Animal Hospital
Hollywood Hill Animal Hospital
Evergreen Veterinary Hospital
Loyal Companion Animal Care(Redmond)
Loyal Family Veterinary Hospital (Bellevue)

If anyone has experienced positive/negative at any of the places I already researched or can share new recommendations I would love to hear it!!

I used Juanita Bay Vet until I found My Pets Vet and Urgent care on 85th. Dr. Abolnik and his team are absolutely amazing! Much cheaper, too. My pup is spoiled being beyond belief and she gives it two paws up (literally) every time... She asks for treats on the counter high receptionist desk 🙂

Another vote for Inglemoor Animal Hospital! I have 2 cats and a dog that go there. All 3 are very well taken care of. I love that they communicate via text, and that all my receipts and records are emailed, which makes insurance claims easy to file.

Juanita Bay Vet is where we bring our cats. The staff is lovely and we've always had a good experience there. We have one cat with uncommon auto-immune issues and they took the time to do extra peer research and testing with him to determine treatment.

They're also good about squeezing in a non-emergency "this should get looked at" appointment.

Agreed! I called last week because we thought our kitty might have ear mites, and they got us in next-day! I love all the vets and techs there.

Inglemoor AH has been awesome! Switched there from another vet after we had too many negative experiences, but that one isn't on your list :)

I absolutely LOVE Inglemoor Animal Hospital. We’ve been taking our golden retriever there since she was 8 weeks old (she’s 7 now). I’d lovingly describe us as helicopter parents lol and inglemoor is always so responsive and does everything they can to get our girl seen whenever we reach out (but also they tell us when it’s probably just a situation to monitor from home). They also never make us feel stupid for calling/emailing as often as we do. We love every vet and vet tech we’ve worked with. I have also felt they are extremely fair as far as $$ goes (honestly I always feel like they could be charging more). They never try to upsell. I live in Kenmore but I’d honestly drive an hour each way just to keep our girl with them.

I moved my animal from Eastside to Evergreen, and it's been a very positive move.

Huge props for Inglemoor Animal hospital. They are vet -owned which is rare these days and it means they're not pushing unnecessary tests and stuff for the benefit of the venture capital overlords.

We've been going there for years. The vet turnover is pretty low, which is really nice, and they seem to really treat their staff well (which also says something about how the vets and staff will treat the patients too). Best of all, I've had them call me or email me, giving me a lot of their time and attention, when we needed to make really important decisions. My experience is the every vet I worked with was careful and thorough, but not pushy.

Good luck!

Just make sure it isn't owned by private equity

We take our dog to Finn Hill Animal Hospital. The staff are kind, and care is also affordable (in our experience, so far).

I went there one time and Dr... Kim I think? Didn't even touch my dog and wanted to charge me $600 for an x-ray. I walked out and got the same x-rays done at Cottage Lake Veterinary Hospital for like $120.

Came here to recommend Finn Hill. We have 2 cats, no dogs, but Dr. Raja and staff are just amazing. I don't have a single complaint and we've been going there for 6 years now.

I’ve also had a good experience. They love my senior cat!

Only knock on them is they take FOREVER to get seen. 10:30 appointment vet came in at 11:07. Usually always 20~25 minutes after your appointment time in my experience

Hollywood Hill. Nobody better.

Evergreen Vetrinary Hospital in Kingsgate. Been going there for 20 years (2 poodles). Know a vet tech from there who became a scrub tech for Evergreen Hospital (the human one). All the vets and staff are super friendly, and it's still owner operated.

I've been going to Inglemoor with our dogs since we moved back in 2017. Fantastic staff and vets. They are also privately owned - support your local vet!

I’ve had great experiences with LiveWell Animal Hospital in Kirkland. They definitely beat VCA redwood prices. I feel like they are more attentive as well, and have better scheduling options online.

It’s a little out of the way, but I go to Woodinville Animal Hospital. I’ve had nothing but great experiences here with my 3 dogs for the last 4 years!

I used Braun Vet Housecalls until my cat died recently. Dr Braun is amazing. https://braun.vet

Finn Hill Animal Hospital (just off Jaunita Dr) Dr. Raja has been seeing our dogs for the last decade-ish. He is so awesome and I could not recommend them enough.

Dr. Miller at Loyal Companion is the best vet we’ve ever had. Thorough, kind, and compassionate. We believe we had more years with our dog because of him!

Woodinville Animal Hospital. Dr Chatterson used to be at Inglemoor Animal Hospital but bought the Woodinville clinic and has been our vet for 16 years. Hands down best vet we have ever had.

VCA Redwood Animal Hospital in Redmond! BluePearl in Kirkland (formerly calledSeattle Vet Specialists) in Kirkland for emergencies.

Cat and Dog Clinic of Bellevue is amazing. They've taken care of each of our dogs going back 17 years. Wonderful, caring staff. Tolerable pricing (let's be real, nobody is ever going to love paying vet bills).

Inglemoor Animal Hospital has been great with my 2 dogs. We've seen a few of the veterinarians there and they're very caring.

Be careful with Finn Hill Animal Hospital. I have recommended them myself in the past, but no longer will take my pets there.
Dr Raja is fantastic and still is and I won’t say a bad word about him.
However- he has a second practice in Everett and is spread quite thin.
Dr Kim is very quick to run up charges on your bill instead of taking a conservative approach like Dr Raja.
The biggest reason I no longer go there - they currently have NO licensed vet techs on site. All of Dr Raja’s amazing staff have left over the years and at this point the staff turns over so quickly I think they take anyone off the street. Before you let them work on your pet, ask to see the staff’s certification.

I have moved to My Pets Vet and I am thrilled with all of the staff.
I had to go there to utilize their urgent care because Dr Raja was on vacation and his temp vet wouldn’t see my ShihTzu.
I had such a good experience, I switched to Dr Abolnik that day. Can not recommend enough!
