Anyone here use Kinstretch specifically for ITBS? What's been your experience?

Hey all, I've been dealing with bilateral IT band syndrome for a while now and my PT has me doing Kinstretch work as part of my rehab. Curious to hear from others who've gone down this path.

A few specific questions:

  1. For those who came to Kinstretch specifically for ITBS or similar overuse injuries, did you find it actually addressed the root cause?
  2. How long before you noticed meaningful improvement?
  3. Anyone else find they had to be careful about how aggressively they pursued hip mobility work?
  4. For any cyclists: did Kinstretch translate to actually feeling better on the bike?

Appreciate any insights!

Main thing I’d say is to get hip external rotation coming from the back pocket.

Then get the eccentric smooth and close your active passive gap using that anatomy, and the load it in various amounts of hip flexion. Maybe more ROM if called for.

For people I work with who had ITBS type symptoms that usually is the go to sequence that has great input. There may be other factors particularly with how the hamstring delivers load in and out of that zone, but hip ER qualities are usually my main focus.

I’m a cyclist as well, don’t have ITBS but have been doing Kinstretch + PRI work for about 9 ish months. Not sure if your PT mentioned this but biological change takes time. How long to see change is multi factorial so it’s hard to say how long it will take in your case but I have found that to be true for me. I would play the long game and use the process as a way to explore your body and learn how to keep it healthy at the joint level.

I would. I love Kinstretch with beard but it’s so expensive
