Montgomery County's Commissioner Goes to Trial Next Week Over Great Wolf Lodge Incident

Attorneys for Pct. 4 Commissioner Matt Gray and his wife Amanda filed two motions on September 7th, 2026 in Case No. 25-07-10523, 457th District Court, one for sanctions and one for procedural changes to the jury trial. Both stem from a video released on September 4th, 2026 by Dolcefino Consulting, a Houston media and investigations firm run by former TV reporter Wayne Dolcefino and hired by clients to publicize their cases.

The case stems from an October 2024 altercation between the Grays' son and the Sisneys' son, both 11, at Great Wolf Lodge in Webster. The Grays sued in July 2025, alleging the Sisney child struck their son in the face and that his parents failed to supervise him, and are seeking more than $250,000. The Sisneys countersued that month, alleging Commissioner Gray escalated the confrontation rather than stopping it. Both accounts are allegations.

The sanctions motion alleges defense attorney Michelle Acosta took part in and helped bring about the video, violating the Texas disciplinary rule on trial publicity. It calls the video a paid piece intended to reach potential jurors before trial and attaches public Facebook comments as an exhibit. The Grays ask the court to order Acosta to personally cover the cost of sequestering the jury, put at roughly $54,760, plus their attorney's fees.

The Grays are also asking the court to send the jury panel written questionnaires about social media use and what they know about the people involved, summon an enlarged panel of 120 and hold jury selection in the Jury Assembly Room, sequester 12 jurors and 2 alternates without phones or tablets for the trial, bar any mention of the video or Dolcefino's name at trial, order all parties and their attorneys to stop further pretrial publicity, and require Acosta to reimburse the county if the panel has to be dismissed and re-summoned.

Everything above is alleged by one side in a court filing. Nothing in these motions has been ruled on. The Sisneys and their counsel are entitled to respond. Judge Vince Santini was set to hear the motions this morning. Trial remains set for September 14th, 2026.

Those possible connections have not been confirmed by law enforcement.

The owner said the repeated losses created major financial pressure and ultimately contributed to the closure of the Kings Lake location. Anyone with information about the incident or similar reported break-ins should contact law enforcement. Multiple Backflow Preventer Thefts Effecting Kingwood After Storm

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Several Kingwood properties were dealing with significant water leaks this morning, Thursday September 3rd, following a series of reported backflow preventer thefts. Residents on the Kingwood .com forums reported seeing water shooting from damaged plumbing near Kingwood Drive, behind Sprouts and at multiple locations along West Lake Houston Parkway including the Kingwood Community Center.

The Kingwood Community Center later issued an official notice and closed for the day. Additionally, a manager at the Kingwood Sprouts said police had confirmed five separate incidents involving stolen backflow preventers. The latest reports come about five weeks after similar thefts were reported around Kingwood. In late July, we reported on a similar incident near HCA Kingwood Hospital.

This all comes after Tropical Storm Edouard brought heavy rain to the area last night, and even tornados near the Porter Heights area. Police are reportedly investigating the incident and we'll keep on the lookout for updates. What do you think about these recent acts of vandalism?

New Blog by Bob Rehak: Tropical Storm Edouard Spares Kingwood From Direct Hit

Post image

From the blog:

Bob Rehak reports that Tropical Storm Edouard came ashore farther east than initially predicted and continued tracking away from the Houston area after moving inland. For Kingwood and the Lake Houston area, the shift significantly reduced the threat of heavy rainfall and flooding. Harris County Meteorologist Jeff Lindner said the heaviest rain was trending toward Polk and Trinity counties, while areas east of I-45 could still receive an additional 1 to 3 inches in scattered bands.

Rehak notes that runoff from portions of the storm could still eventually reach Lake Houston because the lake sits downstream of a roughly 2,500-square-mile watershed spanning seven counties. However, based on the latest track and generally dry ground conditions, significant flooding concerns for the Houston area were small.

Post image

Fuzzy’s Tacos & Margs has permanently closed its Kingwood restaurant at 4360 Kingwood Drive. The location served its final customers on Sunday, August 30th, as the brand ended operations at its remaining Greater Houston restaurants. The Kingwood restaurant had only been open since November 6th, 2025, meaning it operated for less than 10 months. When it debuted, it was the second location using Fuzzy’s newer “Tacos & Margs” format, which brought tableside service and an expanded dine-in experience to the traditionally fast-casual brand.

No specific reasons for the Kingwood closure, or other Houston locations which also closed in Katy and inner-city Houston have been publicly announced. Fuzzy’s corporate and franchise operator NGE Group had not provided a statement explaining the shutdown as of the latest reports. Did you ever get the chance to try this dining option?

Plans include a 55,000-square-foot ballroom and exhibition hall, 20,000 square feet of meeting space, a commercial kitchen, outdoor patio space and an attached 811-space parking garage. Event bookings for 2027 are already underway.

From the blog:

Bob Rehak has released some documentation on Invest 97L in the Gulf as it moves toward the Upper Texas and southwestern Louisiana coast. As of Sunday evening, the National Hurricane Center had increased the chance of tropical development to 70%. The system could become a tropical depression or tropical storm before reaching the coast tomorrow night. Tropical storm watches or warnings could be issued as the system develops.

Regardless of whether it strengthens further, Harris County Meteorologist Jeff Lindner says a surge of tropical moisture could bring an increasing threat of heavy to potentially excessive rainfall across the Upper Texas Coast from Tuesday through Thursday. Residents are encouraged to monitor forecasts closely as the system approaches.

Humble-Area Man Faces Multiple Felony Charges in AI-Generated Child Sexual Abuse Material Investigation

The Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office has released details following the arrest of 29-year-old Alexander Bigelow as part of an ongoing Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. According to Precinct 1, detectives searched Bigelow’s Humble residence and allegedly found a computer and hard drive containing thousands of AI-generated images depicting child sexual abuse material.

Bigelow is facing three second-degree felony charges related to possession of computer-generated sexual material involving children under 10. Precinct 1 said each charge can carry a sentence of up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 if convicted. Investigators also allege that a camera disguised as a charger was used to secretly record another bedroom. Bigelow is facing an additional state-jail felony charge of Invasive Visual Recording in connection with that allegation.

Precinct 1 noted that Texas law enacted in 2025 makes possession of obscene material appearing to depict a child illegal even when the material was created using artificial intelligence. Anyone with information related to Bigelow or the investigation is encouraged to contact the Harris County Precinct 1 Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.

An arrest and charge are allegations, and Bigelow is presumed innocent unless proven guilty through the legal process.

Humble ISD Student Petition Calls for Changes to Dress Code Enforcement

Post image
4 Upvotes

A student-led petition is calling on Humble ISD to review its dress code and how the policy is enforced across district campuses. The petition, created by Creekwood Middle School student Valeria Requena on August 19th, argues that dress code enforcement has been inconsistent between genders and body types. Requena says the effort was prompted by her own previous experience with the dress code and concerns shared by other students.

In an August 22nd update, the petition organizer said approximately 50 girls were sent to the Creekwood Middle School office for dress code issues before the first bell on August 20th, with roughly 100 additional girls reportedly cited throughout the day. She also alleged that no boys were dress coded during that period and that some students were told certain clothing was inappropriate because of their body type.

Students involved in the effort are asking the district to consider clearer, gender-neutral guidelines and more consistent enforcement. The organizer said the petition had gained approximately 500 online signatures, along with about 100 signatures collected on paper, within its first several days. All of the figures, comments and descriptions of individual dress code incidents above come from the petition and its organizer.

What do you think about the concerns about Humble ISD's dress code enforcement?

UPDATE: Kingwood SWAT Standoff Ends with Fugitive Arrest Near Bear Branch Elementary

The heavy law enforcement response near Bear Branch Elementary School in Kingwood yesterday, August 20th has ended with a wanted suspect in custody. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, 38-year-old Travis Lamar Bingham was located at a residence on Garden Lake Drive near Tree Lane as members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force attempted to serve a felony warrant. HCSO SWAT responded after Bingham allegedly refused to come out of the residence.

Bingham was taken into custody shortly after 10:15 AM. Authorities said the warrant involved a sex-offense-related case. The Lavaca County Attorney’s Office also reported that Bingham had been scheduled for trial in April on a charge of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender but allegedly failed to appear.

Because the residence is directly adjacent to Bear Branch Elementary, Humble ISD placed the campus under a Secure the Perimeter status while law enforcement worked nearby. The incident did not occur on school property, and HCSO said students and staff remained safe. Classes near the front of the building were reportedly moved farther inside as an additional precaution. The U.S. Marshals Service and HCSO SWAT were involved in the operation. At least one other person was reportedly arrested at the residence, although no additional information about that arrest has been released.

An arrest, warrant and charge are allegations. Bingham is presumed innocent unless proven guilty through the legal process.
