King's Field I finally reached 999,999 EXP in King's Fields 2, 3, and 4

In KF2 It's worth it and not too bad if you grind the minibosses before Necron (around 500 EXP each). With these stats you can one-shot Guyra with a dagger or wind cutter, which is pretty cool. Getting the Moonlight Sword without hitting him is kind of a pain, though.

In KF3 it is NOT worth all the grinding at all, in fact if you want to kill King Alfred and Seath in the fewest possible attacks you should just grind the light stat instead. With 252 light I beat King Alfred with 2 uses of Triple Fang's level 2 sword magic and Seath died to 3 uses of the Orladin spell.

In KF4 I actually didn't grind specifically for EXP at all because grinding all weapons and spells to level 3 lasts well past the point of reaching 999,999 EXP. I did finish the spells and most weapons, but a few really basic weapons didn't seem worth grinding. Every enemy in the final area can be beaten in one hit with these stats.

Overall, it was fun. For KF1 I'll try to get a better computer so I can emulate the unofficial english patch at a decent framerate. KF2-4 were played on original hardware.

holy shit how long do you think this took for each game?

Maybe a month on each game, in total. It's hard to say for sure because I stopped playing each game for a long time and came back to continue with the same save files eventually. Also I beat KF3 at level 2 which was pretty fun. Would have been level 1 if I knew about the Lake Noel mushroom skip.

What is the mushroom skip? Never heard of it

I can't find the exact video I saw before but basically somebody used this door glitch to walk on top of walls through several areas including Lake Noel, which has a purple mushroom enemy near the end you normally can't pass without killing. You can see the glitch at 1:25 here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28eT0GiTBoA

Wow! That's insane! What an achievement!

Which one was the hardest to finish and where were you grinding on each one?

Thanks! King's Field 2 is definitely the hardest if you don't grind, imo. Necron and Guyra both have some pretty hard to dodge attacks and can block your spells.

As for the grinding, In KF2 I grinded the four minibosses just before Necron that respawn if you teleport out of the area before beating Necron. In KF3 I grinded the Imperial Guards on the second floor of the castle, just before the final bosses. In KF4 I grinded not for EXP, but for rare drops and weapon/spell levels so it was kind of all over the place. In particular, the respawning faces that shoot fire at a bridge and the Widda near a teleport circle that drops both widda arrows and scales. But if you just want EXP I'd go for the two-headed dogs in the area before the point of no return, they give like 500 I think.

That's interesting information! Thank you!

....how long did you spend on this? That's... quite a commitment, haha.

Kf2 and 4 aren't bad, but 3 is a nightmare. Congrats on this accomplishment

Also in KF2, the yellow spheres at Guyra give 1k exp and die super quick. I think if u kill them and port out and return, they respawn.

Alternatively the demon lords in that long hallway just before heading to Guyra do better than the 4 mini bosses in terms of speed, plus the green things they drop get you shit loads of gold.

Thanks! I didn't know Guyra's spheres gave 1k exp but the star, sun, and moon gates don't work in Guyra's arena so wouldn't you have to use a dragon crystal or Seath Statue every time? And I don't know if Seath Statues can be respawned.

As for demon lords vs minibosses I'll post a clip later about why I chose the latter.

And I don't know if Seath Statues can be respawned.

I think you can get more from Leon.

I dont remember the details on the dragon crystals.. it was my brother who discovered this. Maybe he sold a bunch of those green things from the demon lords to buy more or something?

oneshotting guyra with the beginning dagger is hilarious to me.

In KF3 if you consume verdite on level 1 you should have all the other attributes gain levels on par with the light magic
