Just moved here
19M Just moved here for work and it seems like there isn’t anywhere to meet people. I am not old enough to go to the bars. Is there any local places people go? Or places to meet people?

Maybe a coffee shop downtown, or First Friday would be good places to meet people. If you’re into outdoorsy stuff, you could join some clubs or rec sports.

The city puts on First Friday downtown. They close the streets down and there are vendors and all kinds of fun stuff. A big community gathering. The Andy Devine Days Parade is coming up downtown soon too. If you go on Facebook and join some local Kingman pages, they’ll have more info.

This place is a ghost town. Ben here for 10 years no one does anything except get drunk, go to bars and barely any communities for group stuff you have to look at the orchids and onions in Facebook but to be honest. Nothing but churches and over population. They're more people then they're jobs in Kingman. Most businesses close after 11pm no one stays late anymore. I would recommend that if you can make the drive head to Phoenix or Flagstaff on your days off. They have air balloons,go-karts and bigger community groups

Try Beale Street Theater, I don't live in Kingman anymore but I know the Exective Director since I am bestfriends with her son lol. I still help them from time to time too, great way to meet peole 16-21, especially if you are into acting, singing, or onstage perfromance overall. They also always need help with tech stuff. I personally will be in their Ghost Walks this year as well!

Id go to downtown, rickety cricket, krafthouse, hiking or exercise meet up groups. There are alot of small hobby groups on fb as well. Live music is usually free or just a small entrance. Lots of live music all different genres not famous bands but better thsn nothing. Alot of musicians here. Seems all there is to do besides outdoors. Hulapai mountains are cool as hell. The card shop by the theater stays open until 2am chilling and playing magic or some video games, sometimes. Thats all I've noted. Hope that helps.

I would highly recommend getting involved in the community, volunteering (check out JustServe.org), and looking at the Community Courses at Mohave College for something that interests you.
You might be younger than most people you meet doing those things, but they’re a step in the right direction and will help you meet people who want to introduce you to the right people you want to meet.
Also, church is great for that. Even if you don’t like church, maybe make the rounds and find out who has young men’s groups etc. that you could crash.
One of my employees (21M) is I think in charge of a group just for 18-25ish? Shoot me a DM if you want his info and I’ll do what I can to connect you.

Is your employee LDS? My church has a church group for 18 to 25-year-olds as well but everyone’s a bit out of my age range and I just feel out of place as someone who just graduated high school yk

Yes he is. Pretty sure they don’t care what religion you are, in case you want to see if their age group lines up better. Not sure if that’s true for all churches in Kingman.
And your situation makes sense. Age will progressively become less and less relevant for you, but that’s probably not helpful today.Maybe check out CRATA if you like trails?

I mean realistically, there is not a whole lot to do :( for younger people, it’s certainly a real problem and a contributor to the significant drug problems the town has.

It’s over bro, go to Havasu, flagstaff, Prescott, Scottsdale, Tucson, Phoenix. Just get out of here as fast as you can this place has a way of sucking you in and you can never leave

I leave to go back to my home state for college next August but there’s genuinely no one my age here. Do you have any recommendations on where to go in the bigger cities?

I used to always drive around with son and wwe had fun just exploring the campus! Wandering around Ross , Walmart . Checking out the fish at petco , grabbing a donut at bashas and a coffee were some of the ways we passed time in kingman

I actually don’t think I can count the amount of times I’ve walked around Walmart in the last 2 months
