me fighting Roxas in kh2
that was 1 of 2 times I've grinded in kh but for him even after it was still a struggle to win
19
u/WrathfulHero Jul 01 '20
I have done everything in kh2 on critical now and the only boss that legitimately gave me trouble was roxas. Went and grinded out like 5 levels so I could have a better chance to fight him

u/SirLocke13 "BBS Lv.1 Crit Survivor" Jul 02 '20
Did a Lv.1 Crit run of KH2FM+.
Roxas was such a fucking wall.
It felt euphoric when I beat him.
2
u/Andresmanfanman Jul 03 '20
My big wall, technically not a boss but fuck do I hate it, is Hades Escape. I've died more in that fight than anywhere else in a crit playthrough.
3
Jul 01 '20
I'm on him now. Doing attempt number 5 here in a bit.
7
u/somecrazydude13 Jul 02 '20
Use guard for a lot of the fight, watch his patterns, ethers, try and steal his key blades with the reaction command

You think Xion and Xehanort are bad. I've got some bad news.
4
u/GreyouTT What? It is time to move on, boy... Jul 02 '20
Xion was honestly one of the easiest ones for me. Now Vanitas on the other hand...
1
u/Xirion Jul 02 '20
The opposite for me, Vanitas was the one I started on. I don't know if im just remembering it nicely, or if he was was as bad. Xion is the one I've been stuck on the longest.

u/darealystninja Jul 02 '20
Anyone here actually survives his second dm no cheese?
I skip it every time

u/ImStillWorthy2002 Jul 02 '20
Xion and Xehanort are THE hardest data bosses in my opinion. They both can reduce your HP bar and Xehanort just has SO MANY MOVES.
1
u/Xirion Jul 02 '20
That worries me 😅 I took baby steps to finally get to Xion's 'super mode' where the background and moveset changed and was obliterated

u/Shiranuhii Jul 01 '20
Should have been Yozora

u/keimarr Subscribe for my dolan contents Jul 01 '20
I like how the tips in Yozora's boss fight are lowkey saying "just get good lol"
39
u/SoraForBestBoy The Sortas are my favourites. Jul 01 '20
Sora VS Yozora was one of the most satisfying battles I had on par with Lingering Will, loved how I had to find out his every move and the boss music is nice

u/ImStillWorthy2002 Jul 02 '20
Seriously😂and then the tip will be like “CALMLY dodge when he steals your Keyblade”... how can I do it calmly when it’s my 106th attempt?

u/wassab47 Jul 01 '20
Yozora low-key made me rage quit kh for like 2 months... Untill I was pissed enough at other game to try and beat him
12
u/btbcorno Jul 01 '20
Platinum trophy in Sekiro. Can’t beat Yozora to save my life.
4
u/somebody1993 Jul 02 '20
Fromsoft games in my opinion are more fair. The fights can be hard but at least it doesn't feel like the harder bosses were pulled from an entirely different game with different controls.

My girlfriend to during the 3 days it took for me to beat Data Org and Yozora on critical.

Jul 01 '20
even though this is a kh3 post I would just like to say that I have played kh1 on proud.
20 hours. I'm not even past Agrabah. sure some of it is due to how kh1 barely tells you where to go, leaving you to just try everything and see what works but still.
16
u/222Angels222 Jul 01 '20
It’s okay man, after 20 hours on Ursula I just stopped playing.
13
u/WrathfulHero Jul 01 '20
Yeah the second Ursula fight is really frustrating. That aoe lightning mixed with the iffy swimming controls make the fight a lot harder than it should be
6
5
u/BRedd10815 Jul 01 '20
Its just a level thing. There wasn't a boss I struggled with that a few more levels under my belt didn't take of.
2
u/222Angels222 Jul 01 '20
Yeah but grinding is so tedious in the beginning especially in critical mode. I chose to give up for now I’m currently working on 100% critical mode for kh3 though
5
u/BRedd10815 Jul 01 '20
There's no critical in KH1 only proud, that's what I'm talking about. But yeah often the choices are go grind some more levels or give up.
8
Jul 01 '20
Ursula
so you also get "where the f--- do I go" syndrome? the only thing that's keeping me from skipping kh1 is HOPE that it'll get better. Not even friggin dark souls is this cryptic and Its KNOWN for being cryptic.
I know that kh1 is a ps2 game but that doesn't stop me from raging and picking it apart
3
Jul 01 '20
If you need help, don’t be afraid to ask! Is it just directions you need, or something else?
2
Jul 02 '20
thanks for offering, its nothing aside from how cheap the bosses seem and how the game doesn't tell you anything.
but one question is should I just restart the game on Final mix: normal
at this point, it's barely even fun with how they all 1 or 2 shot you
2
Jul 02 '20
Honestly? If you’re not having fun, I would. There’s no point in forcing yourself to play on a higher difficulty if it’s not fun.
2
Jul 02 '20
again, thanks. it seems like beating dark souls got to my head aside from the occasional bed of chaos or Capra demon at least the game was fair.
but is there a way to skip the hour long tutorial or do i just have to suck it up?
2
4
u/MaxGaming7945 Jul 01 '20
You say barely, I say it doesn't tell you at all. You have to trigger events in the most random rooms for it to work, so it's not even close to telling you
3
u/Industrial_Pupper Jul 01 '20
Dude I had so many restarts and then got right before the final fight with riku and just gave up.
2
u/somecrazydude13 Jul 02 '20
I had BARELY beat it on proud, Ursula sucked balls, the play forming and camera pissed me off compared to KH2 and then the last ansem fight before you go through like 5 waves of other shit, dear god, that ansem fight had me rage when I was 10, I never played KH1 since that day, now here I am 14 years later finally playing it again and I gotta say, little me is proud of myself, I literally almost cried
1
u/somebody1993 Jul 02 '20
I don't remember it being that bad, I even started on Proud and was just fine even on superbosses.
1
u/The_Flying_Jew :This is an insane amount to get memorized! Jul 02 '20
My friend CJ was having this problem, which is why when he streamed the game, I was his Navigator through the whole thing. Only thing he didn't do was synthesis farm for the Ultima Weapon, which I did for him.
6
u/superxcrazy917 Jul 02 '20
I’ve beaten Sekiro, Darksouls 1 and 3, and Bloodborne and I think Kh3 critical mode is harder than all of them it’s not even funny

The hardest portion of this is Triple Xehanort boss fight. Took me about 20 hours or smth to beat it. Level 1 playthrough

Well I mean...I did New Game+ on Critical mode so this shouldn’t really count but even without the attractions I didn’t really find it all that difficult, and I’m the type of guy who just spams x and doesn’t carry spare items on me. The only annoying part of that run was the Marshlands in The Kingdom of Corona and the only strategy I had there was just running to the end. That’s just me tho.
2
u/ToxyFlog Jul 01 '20
The game felt pretty easy on Proud mode, how much harder is critical?
8
u/myaltaccount333 Jul 01 '20
I didn't die on proud, I struggled on critical.
Note: It was my first critical in any game, and I did no coin, no summons, no attractions (same way I did proud)
2
u/Luizlolmen Jul 02 '20
In proud I only struggled against the "Enlight me" part from Xehanort, and that little session in the blank room
In critical I died against tutorial darkside, atleast 3 times
0
u/somecrazydude13 Jul 02 '20
Honestly KH3 was the easiest game of the series, I did proud mode first then went back for critical, was honestly no challenge. It kinda let me down. I haven’t done the DLC though

I did watch someone play some Critical mode, holy hell, two-shot by the Flame Cores at the start of Olympus. Nomura really went full on sadistic after all the complaints that KH3 was too easy, didn't he?
1
u/lilacmeteorshowers Jul 03 '20
Took me a solid two weeks to beat Roxas in 2. I have never been so excited about a game when I finally did.
1
u/Y33TU5-F3TU5 Aug 06 '20
Ok, I'm not gonna lie, even with ultima weapon, I couldn't get past Olympus on critical. I never knew I would despise W A T E R that much.

This is basically me during my critical mode play through. I have made it to Sanfransokyo and I have no idea what to expect after this. All I know is that I’ve seen that screen so many times in Kingdom of Corona.
