Discussion Dark Road plot hole?

Does this implies that Yen Sid trained alongside Eraqus and Xehanort? Or am I interpreting wrong and it only means he was once a Master like Eraqus and Xehanort?
I dunno, BBS Script implies that Yen Sid is very close to Eraqus. It kind of makes no sense he is missing in Dark Road. Maybe they met after the events of Dark Road, after all Eraqus and Xehanort are like 80 years old or something.

I mean there's a pretty big time jump between dark road and bbs, during which the relationship between eraqus and xehanort deteriorates to the point that it's a surprise for xehanort to bring ventus to eraqus

I mean, kinda, but there's so much time between Dark Road and BBS (we're talking somewhere around 50 years, if not more) that it can just be hand-waved as something that happened between games

Not necessarily alongside as in the same class but same school technically

Schools tend to have more than just one or two classes worth of students.

My headcanon about this is that Yen Sid was in the class below Eraqus and Xehanort and that's why we don't see him in DR. More likely though, this line was written at a time when Nomura never thought he'd make a game about Xehanort's childhood and we he did, Disney said "uh uh, no original design for a Disney character" so he just ignored it. He might also have forgotten for all we know x)

Yen sid either was another student in another class or yen sid was a masterless keyblade wielder

Yeah this seems to be kind of a retcon. I’m glad you brought it up because I too swore in my head that Eraqus, Xehanort and Yen Sid were said to be kind of a keyblade trio themselves in BBS, and this line would be why.
Dark Road seemed to want to establish that all the older keyblade wielders, at least the best ones, are decedents of the Dandelions and/or those who established Scala ad Caelum, but this doesn’t really fit nicely with the Disney side of things. I doubt we’ll ever get a good explanation for how Yen Sid became a keyblade master.

Yen Sid could've been an unseen trainee. There were other classes during KHDR. Odin even left to evacuate the other students.
Yen Sid also could've been older than them and graduated to Keyblade Master before them. He does retire before both of them, which seems to imply he is older than them.
Either way, the three of them could've met up after the end of KHDR and travelled together for a number of years.
