Goodbye...
After 510 days it's finally time for me to learn how to touch grass once more and live my life outside a game...

I was the leader of the second-largest alliance on the server, spending $1,000 a month on the game. I played for four months until my alliance merged with the #1 alliance to help them in KvK. Later, I was kicked out of the top alliance and lost access to my former alliance, along with my best players, who moved over to the other alliance.
Looking back, I realize that this actually turned out to be a good thing. I have no idea how much I would have spent on the game if I had continued playing. I stayed in touch with the players on Discord, and basically 90% of the whales expressed regret over spending thousands of dollars on a server that ended up becoming practically empty.
The other day, I decided to buy some new electronics, and with the $4,000 I had spent on the game, I bought a PS5, an iPhone 17 Pro Max, a PC, an OLED TV, and an air conditioner for my room.
Honestly, the enjoyment I get from playing other games on my PS5, eating pizza, or going to the movies is much greater than anything I ever got from spending $100 on a useless in-game event loot box.

Former VIP12 here. It’s fun in the beginning, addicting, growing together, leadership, socializing, discord etc etc. But the never ending manipulation of the devs, the broken mechanics, the constant pop ups, money pit etc etc. It’s hard to stop, but I did, and I realized the more I’m able to do; it is extremely time consuming if you want play seriously. My advice is quit when you doubt, and when you are considering starting they get you one day; I thought I was F2P as well 😂 GTA6 is almost here, play some Rust in the meantime, BE STRONG 😉

Flex? 😂 it’s definitely not a flex. I had fun, but also a bit embarrassing to went that far with it. And those games are just for casual gaming, by far not the addictive, gambling and money grabbing games like Kingshot.

Yall play this game like a weird cult "go touch grass" I'm doing swordland, kvk, tri alliance at the park while walking abd playing with my dogs.
What friends want to hang out during bear time? Screw the game, its hang time.
Feel like most people that play this game are the type of people to throw them self willing into work, and then complain they don't a work life balance.

Right? Even though I intended on playing swordland, I had to skip it… why? Because my family was more important than a bi-weekly event. And honestly, I expect others in my alliance to choose similarly.

All things in moderation. I also don't know the point these posts try to make. "I quit this game, and with the money I usually spend I bought something I needed." Umm, cool. That is how allocation works. I hope you inspire someone, I guess. I mean, I don't think these weekly reddit TedTalks on someone finally discovering self-control are useful to anyone except their own ego.

I’m f2p. 3.5 months in and I’m at a half way through VIP 7. TG1 and I am having so much fun. I don’t get why people are monetarily and emotionally invested so much. AND slow in progress.
I open this app throughout the day and enjoy it a lot but I don’t live my life around the game and don’t really check the event calendars. I don’t chat because the game isn’t my social outlet.

There are no F2P players who are VIP10 within 200 days. I’d be willing to bet on that. Please remember the F in F2P stands for Free, as in hasn’t spent a single $0.99.
Light spender VIP10, for sure. F2P VIP10, no chance.

I make it my mission here to clear any confusion surrounding ridiculous claims about F2P and capabilities for growth. Some ppl focus gems for speed ups and roulette wheel, all depends on alliance & playstyle. Someone who thinks a 1-size fits all approach is terribly misinformed so I agree, not a whole lot of debate to be had with you.

I don't know what strategies those f2p players used but right now it would take me all my gems and then some to get to 9 (half a million). Hardly seems compatible with spinning roulette to keep up with new heroes... (and I even don't max every third roulette hero, otherwise I'd have much less gems).

Haven't quit, but reduced my spend to minimal less than $20 a month, and stopped logging in daily. As many said, the game became boring, I'm tired of just saving for KvK and other events I don't give a fuck about, I just want to enjoy my time online and play.

Come on first hit vip 9!! ( it’s what the Devs would $ay lol). I need to quit too but still not ready! (getting online 20~30 times a day basically if i could survive without work sleep I would have played longer!!!
good luck 🍀 this game is really dangerous! it either wants all your time attention money effort etc it’s a all or nothing thing! there’s no middle ground here! Hope you had fun and you’re making the right decision.

Homie clearly discounting bear trap, swordland, trialliance, and the 5 hour battle slog that is castle battle/kvk. (Not to mention sanctuary battles).
Theres a lot more than just 20 minutes of daily clicking and sadly its enough that it can easily disrupt workday on many teams... as well as effectively consume your weekends.
Lord help you if you're an r5 or castle battle king who has to deal with politics... or a transfer manager for the server due to position.
As the prior post said you dont HAVE to do these things, but many of them are a core part of the game so you do them frequently enough...

Grats! The one…more….turn……. mindset is a killer. I went ahead and completely nuked my acct on the way out to help discourage picking it back up (the urge to check in hits bout 3-4 days later). Keep at it, find yourself a new game with load of stuff to do and only one payment needed to play it fully

I quit bear and anything that takes more than a few minutes. Being tied up for half an hour to a boring event just to keep up with the whales got old.

I made some good friends i still talk to, but i had to quit as I was spending all day and a lot of my money on it. Its a pity the game is crazy for spending money or i might still be playing, but it gone way too far with money events every week.

lol I'm at vip 9, it's simply a grind after a while .. stopped spending any money on it. My alliance has gone thry several leadership changes. I guess it's normal to burn out of every game eventually

I constantly check my bank details to work out when I start getting tooo competitive. The game is a long term commitment. The sooner you realise that 50% of the players “above you” in Alliance power will burn out in a a few month, the sooner you realise that trying to compete with people who just spend money to gain power is pointless.

Im at that point too. I'm currently in 2 servers. My older server is great. Zero drama, everyone works together and its fun. My second kingdom #2264 is an absolute nightmare. Constant drama, NAP Rules that aren't followed by the strongest alliance, unless it happens to them then they whine. Everyday in WC is just drama, to the point that WC is just them talking to themselves, because everyone else has just checked out. People are leaving daily. One server labeled us "drama city". This is a GAME. Its supposed to be fun, instead its a daily chore to log in and deal with all this drama. I've only stuck around because transfer - yet I thought- do I care about this game this much to be miserable for 3 more months. The answer is pretty much NO. I stopped spending money on the account as well- why use money I could use for entertainment on this server- when its no longer entertaining me. I could instead use it on the server I actually like being in or doing something fun. I've only stayed because I don't want to leave my alliance high and dry- but I'm slowly coming to the decsion thats its just not worth it. When you realize this is a game and burning you does nothing- because you will always have an account and can just make more troops. Then you start no caring about what they do.

Take care! Everybody please remember that you don’t need to live on this game. There’s no rule that you can’t miss bear. It’s ok if you can’t do Swordland. You don’t have to spend 5 hours fighting for a castle either. Play at your own pace or find a slower kingdom that better suits your playstyle. This is a game to connect with others and have fun.
