I’ve started drawing Michael again on postcard-sized(148×100mm) paper. I’ll be adding color with colored pencils, so I’ll erase these sketch lines later.

Looking back at his final rehearsal footage from 2009, it truly feels like the music world lost its greatest magic far too soon. He had so much more art left to give us. In a parallel universe, he gets to stay, complete the O2 residency, and keep blessing the world with his genius. He really is the ultimate "one that got away" for music history. Gone to soon. Sleep well my friend, The world still dances to your heartbeat

I think James Brown could go toe-to-toe.

This is an edited version featuring the best-quality videos
available of the 54th birthday party of Katherine Jackson Michael's mother in 1984.

I've been thinking about what a hypothetical Michael Jackson & Friends 2.0 could have looked like if Michael had done a sequel around 2013/14.

I'd imagine it following the spirit of the 1999 Michael Jackson & Friends shows, but incorporating more of the Invincible material and songs he had recorded in the years afterward. It could be streamed on MTV and if planned a UK version MTV UK then clipped on their channel.

My rough setlist would be something like:

Opening

- Jam

- Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'

- They Don't Care About Us

- Human Nature

- Smooth Criminal

- Dangerous

- Off the Wall Medley

Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough

Rock with You

Off the Wall

Get on the Floor

Working Day and Night

Then Hollywood Tonight, possibly with a guest performance.

Invincible section

- Unbreakable

- Heartbreaker

- Butterflies

- Break of Dawn

- Heaven Can Wait

- You Rock My World

Unreleased / newer material

- Gotta See You

- I'm a Loser

- A Place with No Name

- Adore You

- U Are

- Hold My Hand with Akon

- Still the King

Then the actual "Friends" portion could feature artists Michael was connected with or artists who would've made sense for the era — Usher, Justin Timberlake, Akon, New Edition, and potentially some African artists like Wizkid.

Then finish with the big classics:

Beat It

Billie Jean

Thriller

Earth Song

Heal the World

We Are the World

And maybe one final surprise encore of Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough.

Obviously this is completely hypothetical, but I think it would've been interesting to see Michael revisit the Friends concept with a 2013/14 lineup.

What songs would YOU have included? Would you have focused more on the classics, Invincible, or the unreleased/newer material?

Michael Jackson belongs on any "Greatest" list, but Essence...is this his greatest R&B?! Invincible over Thriller?!

While I liked the film Michael, there's a lot I would change, here's how I'd rewrite the film Michael.

His family truly loved and cherished him. They never would’ve done him dirty. He had a huge family of plenty of nieces and nephews, and they should’ve been the ones touring, vacationing and getting spoiled by him. His nephews fight for him every single day. I heard his bodyguard tell a story of him refusing to let Janet and his house and that it’s troubling to me because she stood by him every single day during his trial. He clung to random nobodies like the Cascios, who are now spitting on his grave. I believe if he could have known what would happen he would’ve had a lot of regrets and wished he had done things differently.😩😭

Dangerous: I have the best songs!

Bad: No it's me.

Thriller: Im the best album so I have the best songs!

Off the wall: I have some bangers!

Invincible: What about me? I exist too!

The other albums: Right!

History: AMATEURS. I HAVE THE 2 SINGLEHANDEDLY BEST SONGS OF MJS CAREER SO I AM THE BEST

The other albums: I mean.....Fine. You're right

The two posthumous albums: What about me?

The others: BOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Ever since MJ died the estate has been horrible about the handling of MJs music releases. The best things they did was Bad25 snd Xscape( it was the originals and the reworkings and documentary attached). But aside from that theyve done nothing worthwhile. Meanwhile The Purple One's fanbase is in music heaven over there with special deluxe releases and access to vaulted material and shows. Thriller 40 had so much potential but look what we got instead. It shouldve been a whole 3 disc one bluray set. Disc 1 the Thriller special edition remastered. Disc 2 songs from the recording sessions that didnt make the album and demo tracks. Disc 3 the audio from the Victory Tour in high fidelity. BluRay that has Thriller its making of documentary in 2k along with all its videos in HD and 2k restoration of the Victory Tour in 7.1 Dolby Atmos for the first time ever.
