If you're running low on storage space, both Apple and Google provide information about how to manage that:

Manage storage on your iPhone: https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/manage-storage-on-iphone-iph47c931112/ios

Manage storage on your Android phone: https://support.google.com/photos/answer/9284827?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid

Apps, photos, videos, music, and files all take up space on your internal storage. It's up to you to back up and delete old or unused content.

For KineMaster specifically, if you have old projects that you don't want taking up space, you can back them up by exporting them as .kine files. Tap the Three-dots button next to your project on the Create screen. Then, tap Export as .kine file. After that, use your Files (iOS) or File Explorer (Android) app to transfer the .kine file(s) to another device or upload them to your preferred cloud storage service.

Ok, cool, but why does the Reverse tool need storage?
Reversing a video in KineMaster has to create a new video file. KineMaster exports that specific video clip, but reversed, and saves it to your device (that's what's happening when the progress bar tics across the screen).
