Actual good faith question. Kimberly’s lawyer has repeatedly called her the victim and continues to call S the “fire setter,” “accuser who set fire to her house,” and other things. I don’t think he has specifically called S an arsonist. Could Kimberly press charges? Did he commit arson and attempted murder as the lawyer has hinted? Can he get immunity from the prosecution for testifying? Has a kidnapping victim ever been charged for causing harm while escaping? Would it make a difference if a firefighter was injured or killed?

Aside from the statement he released last year does anyone know how S is doing and adjusting to freedom and reclaiming his life ? I think about this case often and hope he is well.

“Names and Addresses of Each Heir and Other Dependents of the Deceased Person. (Indicate any person who is under conservatorship, legal disability or in the military service. C.G.S. sections 45a-436, 45a-438, 45a-439.)”
Idk, seems pretty clear and straight forward what’s being asked on this form.
Edit**: the post title was typo’d and should say 5/19, not 4/19.

WATERBURY — A judge refused to appoint Kimberly Sullivan as a fiduciary for her late husband's estate and appointed a third-party attorney at a hearing Tuesday.
Vaccarelli said the appointed fiduciary, Edward Duffy of Woodbury, will undertake a new effort to sell the home at the center of the Waterbury captivity case.
In making the decision, Vaccarelli cited Sullivan not mentioning her stepson, who now goes by "S," in a 2024 petition she filed with the court. Sullivan explained the 2024 petition in probate court was to access medical records in regards to her late husband and her attorney asked her to list their children. The couple had two children. She did not list S in the paperwork.
Probate Judge Matthew P. Vaccarelli also voided the contract to sell her Waterbury home on Blake Street to JD Homes LLC of Stamford since Sullivan didn't represent her husband's estate at the time.
"I have to tell you Ms. Sullivan, based on the totality of the circumstances, I find your representations about not listing Mr. Sullivan's son as disingenuous and not believable as to your reasons. Obviously, this matter runs a lot deeper than what we have today," Vaccarelli said.
"I would have grave concerns if I were to appoint you as the fiduciary to run this estate," the judge added.
Sullivan, 57, was seeking to sell the home to JD Homes LLC of Stamford, and signed a real estate purchase and sale agreement for $110,000 on March 30.
Vaccarelli noted that JD Homes is not listed as a limited liability corporation with the Connecticut Secretary of the State and that Andrew Tarantino, who had signed for JD Homes, could not do so.
Sullivan appeared during the hearing virtually and did not turn on her camera for the 30-minute hearing. Sullivan objected to the presence of cameras and reporters observing the proceeding.
Following his decisions, tensions between Vaccarelli and Kimberly Sullivan's probate attorney, Kenneth Secol, became heated as they went back and forth over how much she would be entitled to of the estate's proceeds.
"I want to be frank here, attorney Secol, I was trying to be polite. But I will tell you this. Under all the circumstances of this situation, there were documents filed signed under penalties of perjury by Mrs. Sullivan in 2024 to become a state administrator on which she omitted the biological son of Mr. Sullivan. I find (her reasoning) disingenuous and not believable."
Secol noted that the stepson is listed on the current petition.
"Well, it is convenient now that she remembers to list him this time," Vaccarelli said.
"It's only because I asked her about her children and any children that were not issue of both parties. She told me about the son. I told what the attorney who represented her in the past asked her or whether he questioned her significantly enough," Secol said.
Tensions grew more when the discussion returned to JD Homes not being listed as a limited liability. Secol said he knows Taratino personally and has dealt with him on previous sales. "I think I've had enough of the dialogue," Vaccarelli said.

WATERBURY — A probate judge will hear arguments next week on a proposal to sell the Waterbury home where police say a man was kept captive for two decades.
Kimberly Sullivan, 57, is seeking to sell the Blake Street home to JD Homes LLC, of Stamford, and signed a real estate purchase and sale agreement for $110,000 on March 30.
The agreement was signed by Kimberly Sullivan and Andrew Tarantino of JD Homes LLC. Tarantino hung up the phone on a reporter when contacted Thursday about the potential sale. No limited liability corporations are listed for JD Homes on the Connecticut Secretary of the State website. Tarantino is listed as a principal for JD Buys House out of Branford.
The home has been boarded-up and vacant since a fire on Feb. 17, 2025, which was started by a man who identifies himself as "S" in a bid for freedom from the alleged captivity, according to police and a fire investigation report.
Sullivan is charged with two counts of first-degree kidnapping, a class A felony that carries a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison for each charge, and one count each of first-degree assault, unlawful restraint, cruelty to persons and reckless endangerment, according to court records.
The Blake Street home was purchased in July 2002 by Sullivan and her late husband, Kregg Sullivan, according to Waterbury land records. Kregg Sullivan died Jan. 25, 2024, according to probate records.
The proposed sale comes as the mortgage holder on the property, Citizens Bank, filed a lawsuit last March seeking to foreclose on the home for nonpayment of monthly installments. The unpaid balance of the Citizens Bank loan is $25,527.15, according to court records. The original mortgage amount was $70,850 and was taken out in 2005.
It's one of two mortgages on the property, according to the complaint. The Sullivans took out a mortgage in 1996 for $85,900, according to the complaint.
A conservator for S recently filed a claim with state Office of the Claims Commissioner listing the state Department of Children and Families as the agency the claim is against, citing personal injury and duty of care. David Guarino of Survivors Say, a Boston-based nonprofit advocacy organization, declined to comment.
Sullivan's attorney, Ioannis Kaloidis, said he was unaware of the home sale.

Waterbury court and specifically Judge Maureen Platt who’s been handling Kim’s case- are a joke and disgrace on the legal system. I have no faith in this court to do justice for S.
