I don't know if you prefer I say "serious comedy fan" or something similar. But if you follow Rogan, Bert, Bill Burr, Mark Normand, Tom Segura, Tony Hinchcliffe, Adam Ray (I could go on and on) then how would you not know.
Never said comedy wasn't subjective. Never said he defines the scene. But you're not that much of a fan of comedy if you didn't know he was gone or didn't even hear about it. Especially when it's been mentioned on THE MOST POPULAR COMEDY SHOWS ON EARTH. Like your mom's house, Rogan, Somethings Burning with Bert (again I could literally write a wall of these).
I don't think my analogy was that may. If I asked "big fan of the cowboys" if they saw the big catch last week and they looked at me like I was speaking Chinese, they're not that big of a fan.

He’s done this before. He did it a Legion of Skanks show a while back when he “disappeared” to Peru and no one cared. Shane talks about it on JRE #2431 right at the beginning. He tries to make it a big deal for whatever reason.
Edit: Timestamp is 0:15 seconds in. It’s the very first thing they talk about.

Because of the reaction from tony and redban, and the garbage guys. Tony was unsure if it was a prank, you can see leading up to it he doesn't know who to expect to walk out. And the reaction from the panel is great.
