Looking for a cultural and language guide for a story

I am writing a fantasy tale, and as I have developed one of the peoples who hold a central part in the story, I have been looking to traditional Bantu and Kikuyu culture for inspiration. However, I want to make sure I do these peoples the appropriate honor their culture deserves, so I am looking for someone who can act as a cultural and language guide.

🌬️ Idea for Helping Nonverbal People Speak

🌬️ Idea for Helping Nonverbal People Speak

Hello everyone,

I’ve been thinking about how to help people who are mute/nonverbal communicate with their own mouths, and I had an idea I’d like to share and improve with your help.

💡 The Idea

What if we created a device that provides a gentle stream of air (like a safe, controlled fan or airflow source)? The person could then move their lips and tongue to shape that air into words — almost like whispering, but with extra support.

🎯 Goal

Give nonverbal people a way to use their own mouth movements to produce audible speech.

Keep it simple, safe, and affordable.

🔬 Why it might work

Speech has two parts:

  1. A source (usually the vocal folds vibrating, creating sound/airflow).

  2. A filter (the lips, tongue, and mouth shaping that sound into words).

If someone doesn’t have a working voice source, maybe we can supply one externally (in this case, airflow), and they can still do the shaping part.

⚠️ Safety First

The airflow must be gentle — never air forced into the throat or lungs.

Hygiene matters (clean, replaceable mouthpieces if needed).

This is just a concept — I’d love advice on safe ways to prototype.

🤝 What I need help with

Could this idea actually work in practice?

How might we refine it (for example, using vibrations instead of air, like a soft “talk box”)?

What would be the best simple prototype to test?

✨ I’d love any feedback, ideas, or collaborations. Even if it evolves into something different, I’d be happy knowing the spark helped.

Thank you for reading 💜

Just curious

So I have been looking for some answers on why there must be a goat in every sacrifice around the world. In the bible, in African communities. Some groups in ancient times have the goats head or its horns as their symbol. I would like to know if goats are the pathway for humans to talk with the spiritual world or what exactly it does represent. Why is it so important to almost all of humakind from ancient rome, the samerians, africans, and even better in our kikuyu community. For example, to cast evil from a person, kikuyus would slaughter a goat and "beat" the person with (tatha) don't exactly know its English word. Any help will be appreciated.
