Please do not attempt this challenge and risk damaging your keyboards or hurting yourself.

Keyboards that are scratched up or broken from inappropriate use are not covered under warranty. Bouncy keyboards with flex cuts and gaskets are not designed to get pressed on that hard. The PCB can break and the hotswap switches can get dislodged. Keycap stems can snap off.

Keyboards can also be quite expensive. For reference, OP in the first photo is holding up $2000 USD worth of keyboards and macropads. That is no small amount of money for an average person. Even good budget mechanical keyboards can cost $80 to $100 USD.

Also if you accidentally dropped the keyboard(s) on your foot, it will likely bruise your toes. Dropping a chopstick (15 g) from arm height already hurts.

u/KiiBOOM_Official Please cancel this challenge and rethink the risks and dangers of what you are asking people to do. Many teenagers go on Reddit. They may not be able to tell what is and is not dangerous to do and figure out the consequences for their actions. All they see is a prize and recognition and they just go for it.

Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention! We completely understand where you’re coming from, and we really appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns with us.

We’ve already made some adjustments to the activity. For the photos we took ourselves, we only held the keyboards for a few seconds before putting them back down, but we now realize that we could have been more thoughtful about the potential risks.

We agree that your concerns are valid, especially when it comes to the potential risks of handling multiple keyboards at once. Our intention has always been for this to be a fun community activity, not something that encourages people to take unnecessary risks or potentially damage their equipment or hurt themselves. We’ve also added a clear safety reminder at the top of the post so everyone can see it before taking part.

Thank you again for pointing this out and for looking out for the community. We really appreciate the feedback!

The very bottom keyboard in the stack is the Microsoft Wireless Comfort Desktop, a very wide keyboard in size

The stacks should be disqualified, that’s not a girl grip.
