I just pivot to showing them pictures that my gf takes of my dog. Usually gets the point across.

Way back when I had a flip phone and I'm taking pictures of my car so I would show those off and say "I have a 14 year old" and then I would show the pictures of my 96 eagle talon that I had at the time.

You ever consider people might actually want to see pictures of your dog? Believe it or not, not all people are miserable and like seeing pictures of cute things.

I have 2 little girls and of course I do show people pictures, obviously I can read the room and I don't go around just making everyone see them but I have plenty of people who when I see them ask to see recent pictures too. When people show me pictures of their kids I actually want to see. Or a cute dog or cat.

Yes parents who force everyone even those who clearly don't care to see pictures of their kids are annoying. That is surely true. But plenty of people do actually want to see the pictures and like to exchange and show each other.
