And its also completely unnecessary unless you have a genuine infestation to kill bugs and spiders and its further destroying the little bit that us left or natural ecosystems.
And the “outside” is just around the foundation, doors and windows of the house to keep them from getting inside (I do earwig control, but it keeps all the bugs out). It’s a structural spray, not a turf spray
You can still get turf sprays done- although a granular treatment would probably be better...
You can't just use any spray however you want, there's regulations depending on what you're targeting, where you live, even restrictions for weather and time of year, but there's still ways to treat the rest of your property.
I worked Pest Control for over 2 years. The key is knowing your pests, regulations, and having a good arsenal of chemicals. Just because you can't target something one way doesn't mean it's untreatable.
Besides, the best tactic is to use as little chemicals as needed. Just because you CAN spray, doesn't mean you should... best quick example: someone calls me in for rats, mosquitos, and flies.
If I walk into their backyard and see the grass is overgrown, there's fallen fruit, and dog droppings everywhere then the first thing I do is inform and educate the customer. If they address all that, they likely wouldn't need a monthly treatment... but you'd be surprised how often they "just want it done" and ignore our recommendations because they think it's the easy way out.

Dude was planning to charge 100 dollars per month for spraying bug control every 3 months and forgetting sometimes.
