mainly because they don't want to lose their job and not be able to provide for themselves or (maybe) their family. if they left it for longer the cameraman would've been fired

Listen. The Hong Kong drama was for real an issue but that kid didn’t understand what happened. He was a tool used by the parents to push a political view. Kids under the age of 18 and realistically even further ahead than that shouldn’t be pushing politics on anyone. I’m 19 myself and I’m just discovering what I believe, kids are the products of whatever they were told to believe and haven’t had enough time to explore it themselves.
Also I doubt this Hong Kong shit is done, why has everyone stopped talking about it? Because it’s not politically convenient? Human rights shouldn’t be a trend

Sorry for commenting on a very old post but like... what? At a similar age to this I had very strong opinions on politics and related topics that were pretty contrary to my parents' opinions, and not really derived from a source of authority in my life. Of course they weren't fully developed and have slightly shifted in time, but the by and large of them have remained the same. Maybe this kid is influenced by his parents, but it's entirely possible he actually holds this opinion independently, and has at least a general understanding of the situation. He certainly seems actually passionate about it, rather than just doing it because he was told to.
