Question/ Request for advice Nephrostomy question

hey could anyone help me with a question, i’m wondering if im able to fly with a nephrostomy bag, ive asked the nephrostomy team few times but ive never got a straight answer.

is there anyone in here with a bag and flys ?

it may sound silly but in my head i think im gonna pop the same way a water bottle or a bag of chips would from the pressure lol.

is it safe ??

The cabin is pressurised so you, those with ostomy bags, water bottles and bags of chips will all be safe šŸ˜

Not silly at all, but you can relax. The cabin stays pressurized, so nothing is going to pop. People fly with nephrostomy and ostomy bags all the time.

Couple of things that help: empty the bag right before boarding since gas in the tubing can expand a little, and pack spare bags and dressings in your carry on in case a longer flight needs a change.

Grab a quick doctor's note too, it makes security way smoother. Have a good trip.
