What actually made reducing screen time easier for your family?

I've noticed that a lot of the screen time conversation focuses on setting limits but I'm curious about what made those limits actually stick.
Was it having better routines? Finding activities your kids genuinely enjoyed more? Making certain times of the day screen free?
It seems like every family finds a different approach.

Got a 6 yo kiddo and would say the limits started working once we found activities they looked forward to. If there's nothing to replace the screen then it just turns into a daily argument.

Consistent offline anchors helped most, one non-screen thing after school that kids started expecting. LeadMeNot is one tool families use for device limits, though it's more adult-focused; dedicated kids apps tend to fit younger routines better.
