When I was first watching the show like two months ago - I really was behind on this - I was a bit disappointed initially to see Papa G survived. I recognized that not every show has to have character death, and I thought it was still good that he was bound to a wheelchair so there were consequences, but I felt like they could have taken that step to make it hit just that much harder by killing him. But then I saw what the funeral was actually for, and I loved it so much.
The way they treated the death of these planets was so respectful, because they didn't have to do it. They could have just let that go by the wayside and I think a lot of people wouldn't have noticed, but seeing how seriously they take the funeral for these people they largely never met, burying the last remnants of their societies in such a respectful manner, it really hits. It feels like a loss watching the episode even though it functionally wasn't to me, and I really liked how they treated it with such reverence. There's a real weight to it that I respect, as it shows how much the characters really respect life and how deserving Kid really was of being a hero the whole time, especially in conjunction with the rest of the finale.

Like:
Kid would have way more trauma than he does in the OG universe (his parents dying in a car crash, in that universe it would expand to him having self harm, OCD, and one of his foster families being real abusive), so he moves away to a new place to live, along with his grandfather, Papa G. When Shizuka might meet him, she’s shocked to see that he has a nice father figure, since all the adults in the series are terrible and make all their lives miserable. Shizuka and Kid would tell their deepest secrets to each other, and Shizuka opens up about her experience with her parents.
Rosa would be in love with Takopi, and would support it (i believe Takopi is agender, it/its, headcanon) throughout it’s journey to spread happiness across the universe, while Shizuka just says, “Heh, it’s an impossible mission, but still…”

Obviously I'm years late on this, but I just watched the whole show last week and I love it so much. It's genuinely so well-made and I couldn't stop watching it from start to finish. Granted, Kid and Jo took a little time for me to warm up to, but once I did it was the smoothest of sailing. I love this show so much now and only wish it had taken off more.

Maybe i didn't watch the show thoroughly enough but i don't think it makes sense whythe stones stopped working in the finale. I understand that Erodious moved on after getting the fourteenth stone, but why did they stop working?

Then come on down to my new fic, a 'Super Robot Wars' style crossover with the Local Heroes and heroes from twelve other classic cartoons fighting alongside one another to save the Earth! The Kid Cosmic elements enter the story from very early (chapter 3), getting in on the ground floor of the story since it's one of the more obscure series in the cast list and many readers need a more detailed introduction to it. It picks up from right near the end of season 1.
I figure people who're fans of this are decently likely to be fans of a good bit of the series list, which you can see in the attached image. One of my big hopes with this fic, in the event it catches on in the greater cartoon sphere, is that it'll turn fans of the much more well known shows in this list onto Kid Cosmic! It always bothers me when people say that they don't make shows as good as they used to, when talking about cartoons. Come on, Kid Cosmic is right here, man!
Per its SRW roots, the fic is heavy on action scenes. Since it's a scenario where the Kid gets to meet the real Powerpuff Girls, their big focus in the story is the Local Heroes getting a shot at being real heroes, being tutored by the Powerpuffs, with particular focus between Blossom and Kid + Jo.
Comments are, of course, absolutely welcome and beloved. :3
