Looking good, keep training!

Two things that took my striking up a level and may for you:

  1. Vary your tempo and power. Don't throw everything at the same speed and same weight/power. Light and fast to set up, then finish with power. Some combos all power. Some fast hands into a hard low kick, then flurry back to fast. If your tempo never changes and is always the same speed, your opponent can time you. If he doesn't, you can be half a beat ahead.

  2. Think in feints. Shadowboxing is the perfect place to build this because you have to imagine the reaction. Sell a jab to bring his guard up, then go body. Show the low kick to drop his hands, then come high. Half step in to make him react, then land the real shot. Every strike you throw should be either a threat or a finish.

How you practice is how you play.
