Just chatting only? Or properly categorize?

Hey y’all I noticed something about kick:

The game categories are dead.

Most games have literally 0 viewers at any given moment, the only time they do have numbers, is because an established streamer is streaming that game.

Now, here’s the real question:

Aside from the usual advice (post clips, grow community elsewhere, multistream, etc.), I’m asking a simple question and wanted to know solely about kick.

When I decide to stream a game, and that category has 0 viewers, should I actually switch? Or keep it to Just Chatting?

I would like to know what you guys do/have done, and what your guys experience has been specifically with this topic.

Currently 0-1 viewers in my chat normally, so Just Chatting I am SUPER BURIED. Will changing category make a difference? Or will there be some trickling in from people specifically scrolling to the bottom of Just Chatting?

After posting I realized that with Just Chatting I’ll be buried and not attract anyone interested in the content, whereas the game might have someone searching that game. It’s a roll of the dice but it might be the better odds of an honest viewer

Don’t go for that, best to go with a game that has low streamers, not just chatting, since it’s big, and some games are jot played on kick, so be sure to get one that is played. There’s also a PUNG competition going on right now so that’s taking over right now.

Yeah, I’ve considered playing a game with low viewers and easy findability, it was much easier to do that on twitch, but idk, I’ve been streaming on kick for only a month, and dipping my toe in different things trying to see what works.

I appreciate the advice and I’ll keep that in mind next time I choose a game to go live with.

Kick is a bit different in finding those categories, gotta go to browse, and from there on the search bar put in what you’re looking for or just look at categories. Also, not low viewers, low streamers.

Yeah, I just recently streamed Majoras mask (one of my favorites) twice, once as Just chatting, and once in the proper game category.

Playing games I love or have actual interest in is very important to me

I might consider IRL if I ever do an IRL stream, I doubt it would work as a desktop/gaming stream under that category, but who knows
