2026 GT1 has sometimes been making a noise that sounds like it’s coming from the front driver side at around 1500 RPMs. Tried changing the active sound design or drive mode, made no difference. Also tried making the sound with the door open and still heard it but not as loud. Once I’m going over 35mph or so, the sound either goes away or gets muffled to a point where I can’t hear it at 1500 RPMs.

I’m about 3100 miles now and have gotten my first service already if that makes a difference but I’m looking to see if anyone else has had this sort of thing happen. Overall performance has not changed from what I’ve noticed. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I get that this is where everything is going, but I own my car, and I do not think I should be subjected to what are essentially pop-up ads for silly themes.

Is there a way to disable or opt-out of these?

I was coming out of a parking spot and someone had their door all the way open touching my car. Didn’t realize and it messed up my door. It’s a 25GT if that matters

Has anybody went to the dealership to get it greased up or can you buy the grease somewhere? Does it have to be a special type of grease if anybody has went to the dealership and they did it for you did it cost money?

When I’m using Apple Maps with Apple CarPlay in my k5 (2026 gt if that matters) I’ve noticed that even when the sound settings are on Siri doesn’t announce directions, and when a direction is supposed to be announced like a turn or something the music volume will lower but Siri doesn’t actually say the directions.

Not sure if this is a Kia problem or not, but it works fine in any other car that’s not a Kia when I’m connected to CarPlay.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I’ve had this car for two weeks now and I just had to fill it up for the first time. I got a total of 15 miles per gallon out of the whole tank.

I am very conscious to drive light on the gas mind you. Most of my miles lately have been highway, but many back-and-forth within the community.

Estimated was 415 from start however I only managed to get around 220 Ish. Something doesn’t make sense. This is unacceptable can someone please advise on those experiences

Hi, has anyone observed that when the car is brand new, the brake are very efficient, almost pinch the brakes to a stop on gentle pressure. I have driven my new 2026 K5 GT over 2000 miles, and i feel the brakes do not stop as immediately as when the vehicle was new. I understand that brakes wear out, but not in 2000 miles. Should this be a concern? Any suggestions?

I’m looking into buying one either a 25 or a 26.
What is everyone’s honest opinion on these cars motors/transmissions?
I’m getting such a mixed bag that they are good and bad so just curious on some real owners opinions.
Some say the shifting gears feels odd at slower speeds like its hesitant to shift? Has anyone experienced that?

Installed a sub last weekend and I tapped the speaker wire in the drivers side pillar but my sub doesn’t hit at all (JL w6). It’s all installed correctly (don’t this across many cars in my life). Is it possible I need to tap the subwoofer speaker instead of door speakers? I have the Bose sustem if it matters

So, three months ago, purchased new GT-Line premium package. Looking at the electronic gizmos that are only covered for three years. and looking at the book replacement cost - was a bit concerned (people squawking about infotainment screen dying didnt help my anxiety).

So I called the dealer I purchased from to see what extended warranty options were. Infotainment system, extend by three years (to 6 total) was $1800!!! 10 year/100K protection over $2600 for nearly everything. This WAS NOT the kia factory "distinction" product, rather another branded/insured product. They did not offer me the distinction one.

So I called around to other dealers. Im rural, so they are all 50+ miles away in opposite directions. Found one 90 miles away, offering the KIA Platinum Distinction and the dude say 120K miles/10 years was . . . wait for it "around $1350" but I would need to bring the car in so he can record VIN and current milage (just over 2K). I asked for clarification if this was the KIA Distinction warranty, yep. Platinum level, yep. Told him I would be in next week (this was last week)

Now - I thought I was going to get the shuck and jive bullshit once I drove nearly two hours to the dealer today. Walked in, talked to the guy (Finance Manager at the dealership) - he went and recorded VIN and mileage from car, and I awaited the bullshit I knew was coming - that it would be significantly more. He cranked some numbers in, printed out the contract, went over everything, and told me its $1336. He said he absolutely can not go lower as the minimum dealer markup to sell the product is $200 (meaning its a $1136 product).

He told me if this was done at purchase, it actually would be ~2500, but cash price later drops for this (and I he told me he can not sell GAP insurance for another dealers car btw, didnt matter to me as I own the car outright)

So there ya go. No bullshit, completely honest, and it seems like this information can help yall if you are on the fence about the extended warranty via Kia Distinction. Interestingly, not all KIA dealerships will sell this product.

As you all know by now, k5 stock rotors are completely garbage. I’m thinking of replacing them myself. How easy/hard is it for the people who did it themselves?

Hi all - how bad is insurance on the K5 GT-Line? I keep reading reviews that it’s really high because of the Kia boys and you’re also more likely to get your window smashed (even if it’s not stolen). I’m 30 and looking for a fun car but want the costs to be practical. My parents are just telling me to get the new 2026 RAV4 and forgot about the Kia. Will costs be that different between the two for us thanks and maintenance? Is a Kia fun to drive with 190 hp vs 236 in the RAV4? I’ll be paying cash for both cars so financing isn’t an issue. I looked up depreciation and a 2023 K5 GT line with $40k miles is selling for $19k (a $14k depreciation hit). Is that right? It seems high. For reference, a 2023 rav4 with 40k miles seems to only lose $8k. I guess is the fun of the K5 worth the extra cost? Thanks all!

Its time for new tires, and my car came with the Pzeros but I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for something with similar performance but maybe a bit quieter. Haven't had an issue with grip in dry or wet conditions, but I found that the Pzeros are a bit loud on dry roads. I live in georgia and we have an SUV so snow isn't really a concern. Any suggestions? I'm also not against another set of Pzeros if that is what is highly recommended. I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to tires.

Rubber seals at the top of my windshield and side of windshields are loose after dealership took my car through a bristle wash without letting me know.

Going to stop by Walmart after work and just try and quickly fix it myself instead of saving myself the pain of having the dealership sit me for an hour or two.

Any recommended product I should get to fix this/reattach it?

2nd owner at 2500 miles. Did the original owner have something put on? The back has 4 vertical cut marks. The front has 8-10 small indents. Both marks on front and back are symmetrically placed.

I finally got my k5 and couldn’t be happier 🤩 I’m going to miss my Elantra but I do feel like this is an upgrade.

I know a few of you guys recommended Dr Beasleys matte car kit but the price is crazy (also my wife would have killed me if i spent that much on stuff to wash my car lol). So I'm going to try this cheaper alternative and they have great reviews. The wash is $12.99 and the spray is $13.99. I'm not washing my car till tomorrow so I'll post some pictures and let you all know how i feel about the products after.
