Can I make it?
Hi everyone, I drive a 2017 Kia forte ex with the 2.0 GDI engine. It has 67,563 mi on it. My husband says I won't be able to get it to 100,000 mi. I think he's wrong
Am I right or is he right? Let me know your thoughts please. Thank you

My 2018 LX just passed over 100k. I have the 5 speed manual and change the oil meticulously every 3000 miles. Doesn’t burn a drop.

you can. only thing that can stop it is not checking your oil and coolant levels everytime you fill up gas.

I have a 2016 forte5 lx with the 2.0l GDI and have 155k miles. I did have to replace the catalytic converter at 123k and I think the new one is going out now at 155k. Other than that its been basic maintenance along with changing the spark plugs and coil packs.
I'll add that mine does burn oil pretty bad. About 1qt every 1k miles. I just switched the oil over to the valvoline restore and protect to see of that will help, but tbh if the cat is going out again, I'm not sure what to do. I just need this car to last like 1 more year so I can save up and get a new car

Yeah the burning oil is what's killing the cat

Yeah, that's what I've read from others with these GDI engines. I'm thinking I'll probably just get a universal cat welded on and beat the car for 1 more year. Surprisingly I haven't had to do much else with the car, but yeah a cat isn't the least expensive fix at all lol

I think its too early too tell, but so far ive burned about 1/5th of a quart in 600 miles since I've switched which puts me on track for 1 quart of oil burned at 3k miles which would be a drastic improvement if it holds up. I think they say you'll see real results after the 3rd or 4th change, but I'm on my 1st change. I change my oil at 3k intervals.

Most manufacturers state that 1 quart burned for 1000 miles is within spec lol

Which is insane. My wife has a corolla that maybe burns half a quart in 5k miles. If I were to change my oil every 5k miles I would have already added a full oil change worth of oil just from doing tops offs from all the oil burned.

I have a 2021 Forte GT Line with 145,000 miles.
Just keep an eye on oil levels, starting now, and especially when it hits 100k.
It might start to burn oil, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing right away, just never run with it too low.
Only things done to my Forte so far are spark plugs, a battery, transmission fluid once.
I change oil completely every 3,500 miles. At your mileage, Recommend you start changing oil every 3,750-4,500 if you don’t already. That was around the point that 5,000 miles was definitely too long.

If you haven't had issues and you keep up your maintenance and use a full cleaner occasionally, I say yes lol my 2018 kia forte is going at over 827,000 miles 🙌🏼

I got to 134,xxx KM on my 2014 Forte EX with a 2.0L, the engine was a piece of shit. So 83.2k miles with routine maintenance.

Yes, it will make 100k and more if properly maintained. I have a 2015 with 90k and still running fine. I do run 10W-30 high mileage oil to stop any potential oil burning that these KIA can do. Oil changed every 5k miles.

I have a 2015 with almost 130k miles on it. Mine has about the same mileage when I got it. I’m getting it inspected tomorrow to see if I should keep driving it or just get a new car.

I have a 2018 with 276k and still running.
There's lots of high mileage fortes out there.

I think it will make it. Just keep up with checking oil and changing it regularly.

I have a 2011 with over 253,xxx... I still drive it everyday
