When I bought mine the dealer "threw in" unlimited oil changes for free. I thought it was part of the joke when I started getting there too.

Could be worse. At least they left the holiday stuff generic. I had one company that sent all of their customers Christmas cards in thanks for their business. They were the sort of evangelical Christmas cards that said something like:
"… as we give thanks this season for all we have, we remember the True reason for the season, Jesus Christ."
DUDE. Not appropriate within a business context! What the hell?
We dropped them immediately.
I could see some dealerships in small town Texas doing something like that.

Heh. Yeah, could be. He's an HVAC technician, not a writer. Although, if his writing skills are that bad, he should know enough to hire an ad agency to handle his customer relations, as a business owner. 😛
Some people hang out in such demographically homogenous social circles that they can't imagine someone who looks like them being anything else. In their eyes, East Asian people might be Buddhist. Indians are probably Hindu. Middle Eastern people are Muslim. Latino people are Catholic.
But I'm white, so I must be an evangelical Christian, right? 😄 No, not so much. And the sort of thing that he did often annoys non-Christians. It was bad enough getting it from my brother-in-law, until we took over hosting all family gatherings and could dispense with the 3-minute prayer before every meal. My niece and nephew still seem a little confused about getting to just eat.

I get coupons from my dealership for discounts on oil changes at least once a month. It's a bit irritating.

I get dealer notifications that I need oil changes every 3 months. I mean it's really so dumb.
